Good morning world

I'm awake and alert this lovely Thursday morning!

The sun is shining, my garden is (almost!) uncovered by snow, and the back is beautiful and smells like spring.  My puppy happily destroyed a giant log on the rock this morning while I contemplated my forthcoming planting.

Last autumn I found the old outline of a rose garden the original builder had planted in the 1950's and I turned the earth and rebuilt the rock wall.  And I found/rebuilt the lovely bed by the edge of the rock where I'm going to put my herb garden.

Then at Cosco the other day I picked up some lovely big sun-happy plants I'm going to sling around my deck; I'll have to pick up some big terra cotta planters and get those started indoors probably, then transfer them to the deck once its done and gorgeous next month.

Yay May!  By the time it arrives I'm be done this G-D exam and I can start planting and nesting :)

For today I'm done OB and sitting in class - two days of half-listening to lectures and really trying to study.  I've got bazillions of practice questions to go through and I'm going to put the big numbers I have to memorize on flash cards.  I've never really been able to use flash cards but it would make it easier to find the answers and remember the questions I still don't know.  The exact numbers for diagnosing gestational diabetes keep coming up and I've almost-but-not-quite got them in my brain.

And its April 7th.  So the 28th is coming up quick.

In other news: caught half the interview with Michel Martelly this moring on The Current.  I was impressed how young and passionate and well he spoke.  I don't know the man, quickly scanned the wikipedia info on his music and political career, but wow can he talk.  He seems to have a vision and a passion for his country, and damn but I wish we had that going into our election.  Politics in Canada are old stick of men talking without saying much.  Iggy annoys me, Layton I want to have a voice but I'm realistically not going to vote NDP, Harper is getting too Jean but at least he's got a record to stand on, and the Green's again I want to listen to but probably wont vote for.

Or that's not true, I might vote NDP or Green to help give them a voice.  I really think they're points are needed in federal politics I just don't want them actually in charge of the country.  Or even in my riding.  Not that there's much likelihood of that nationally, and the NDP only win's in the Nickel Belt Riding around here.  The City is always liberal.

Well enough politics, more studying.  I've got flash cards to make :)

this busy life, nesting instincts unite!, pgy why? : resident tears of woe
