There is a time, inside of Kurosaki Ichigo, that Zangetsu is in charge. He is the prominent form, and the Hollow is a part of him.
That time passes soon enough, and the Hollow is the prominent form now, and Zangetsu is a part of him.
Now it is Zangetsu who watches, unable to do anything, watches Ichigo grow and achieve, fail and make mistakes, but cannot help him.
Each time the Hollow is let out he realizes an unsettling feeling, deep in the part of Ichigo’s soul that remains his.
“Troublemaker.” He murmurs.
The Hollow only laughs.

His steps were slow, nearly methodical. One, two, one two, left, right, left, right. Everything he did was calculated, every step, every move, chosen and evaluated before hand.
He’d waited for a strong adjucha, waited for the one he would bow to and call King. He had found him, followed him even now that they were Arrancar, back straight, shoulders level, arms folded behind him and following the one he had conceded to.
Even now he followed him, stood beside the others, he, as eleventh, and all the way through sixteen, following the one with the six on his back.
Everything was a calculated move, designed to elevate his king, and to elevate himself in power along with him.
And, Shawlong had calculated, killing those humans in Karakura would be a good move for them indeed.

“Jealous, punk?” It was just a question, but to Luppi, it sounded an awful lot like a challenge. The Sexta was passing by, his cronies in tow, and had caught him sneering. Him, a lowly Numeros.
“Why should I be?” Luppi knew he was going to rise in the ranks, this was something he planned on and was going to happen. He relied on that hope to get him through, to get him through the Espada’s taunts and jeers.
Grimmjow stopped, offering him the occasion to speak, proud tilt to his head and a manic grin on his lips, a daring sort of face. Luppi snickered.
“There’s no use being jealous of something that’s going to be mine anyway.”

It was quiet.
This was something strange in the 11th division headquarters, but, it occasionally happened. It was too hot for raucous, the only noise the low hum of insects in a summer night.
“Hey.” Yumichika whispered, on his stomach on the veranda with his head pillowed in his arms. “It’s quiet.”
Ikkaku snorted, on his back nearby, rubbing at his eyes. He’d been napping.
“No shit.”
The sounds, on a summer night, of laughter and the low hum of insects.

The skies over Hueco Mundo are clear. They’re bright, bright, almost too much so, almost to the point that they burn the skin, make visions dance before his eyes.
Noitora is fond of looking up at the sky, fixing dark eyes on that all seeing sun. It’s because he’s always looking forward, looking up, always reaching for something more, more, more, until he gets it.
The sky’s the limit, they say, well. Noitora knows he’s going beyond it.

Aizen & Nanao - “Why Didn’t He Choose Me”
Nanao was a devoted vice captain.
She files all her paperwork on time, and she gets things done. She keeps the division in line, keeps everything in order, and keeps it all running.
Her division is a well oiled machine, and while he lecher of a captain is its head, she’s its true ruler.
Watching Aizen Sousuke and the way he treats his vice captain, she almost wishes she was in Hinamori’s place.
She doesn’t wish it long.
