And the playlist.

It's obviously from several years ago, but it's Randi meaning it's incredibly awesome. He discusses his adventures in skepticism and uncovering frauds, which include some great clips of him on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show, and the million dollar challenge, which, even though it's ending next year, nobody has claimed. He also discusses homeopathy, and introduces an exponential dilution I didn't find in my research -- 101500. Or:

Or, Randi says, you'd need to dilute one molecule of active agent into a sphere of water the circumference of the orbit of Pluto and dilute that 2 billion times. Homeopathy is bullshit.

It's filled with beautiful quotes on science and human nature, but Randi ends it with this, and I think it's the most poignant:

They say "You're not sure of yourself, Mr. Randi," and I say "That's right." And no scientist is sure of himself either. Though I'm not a scientist, I share that with them. They could be pretty sure, they could be almost 100% sure, but there's always gotta be that little bit of a doubt, "I wonder if someone else is going to improve upon what I've discovered, or change is slightly." But that's okay, that's in the rules, that's the way science is! It makes mistakes and learns from the errors, and I think that's the beauty of this thing we call science. Most people out there find that very difficult to understand. "Science really doesn't know anything." That's right! But we know an awful lot that we really believe, way down deep, that it's true. You prove to me that it isn't, and I'll have learned something. That's a great attitude to have.... [We] can look straight in the eye and say "Yeah, I was wrong, isn't that wonderful? I learned I was wrong and I'm a little smarter than I was just a couple hours ago."

videos, science, cool stuff, skepticism
