I took Mom over to look at Place #2 this morning, and while she's not thrilled with the idea of a studio apartment, that's all they have left after the stampede from Place #1. The nurse who gave her their evaluation said that she didn't think Mom needed any additional levels of care, as they call it, at this point, so yay for that. I put down a

That is, in itself, a major hurdle. It may take as long as a month before she feels comfortable. If she's especially social she may click right in with all the activities.

I kept telling myself that she (my mom) wasn't rotting at home by herself. It kept me going until she acclimated.

She used to be moderately social, but she'd gotten kind of reclusive as her sight/hearing/mobility has gotten worse. I'm really hoping this will draw her out some.
