I'm afraid I'm with Elisi really. I would probably never have written Spuffy at all if not for season 6/7. My whole fic writing relationship with that 'ship is trying to figure it out post AR.

However, that doesn't mean there aren't hundreds of moments where the story could have gone in a completely different direction, and the direction you've pursued is as valid as any surely?

If the answer to that is 'No,' then everything I write is... dishonest.

Erm, well firstly I'm not sure in the larger scheme of things that matters so much, though I do see why it's important to you. Secondly, though, and more importantly, though I'm not that familiar with your 'verse, I find it hard to believe that you would not set it up so that it is believable the characters would behave as they do, given the experiences you have them go through from the point where you branched off from canon. You're the kind of scrupulous writer who would make sure their emotional journies made sense.
