Question for archive-running types
Ok, I know that several of you out there run eFiction archives, or know someone who does. How have you dealt with the problem of spammers? I tried turning CAPTCHA on, and that stopped the spammers - but it also stops legitimate users from posting reviews or signing up for an account, because apparently no matter what you enter, you always get told that you didn't match the CAPTCHA image correctly. Skimming eFiction's support forum leads me to believe that this may be a bug in their CAPTCHA, but they don't seem to be in any great hurry to fix it.
OTOH, this sounds really familiar - I'm 90% sure I ran into this problem on another website, and solved it by adjusting my security/popup settings somehow. I just can't remember exactly what the problem was, or exactly how I solved it. So far, Google has failed me.
If anyone's got any ideas, I'm all ears...
