sights-alined is here and that makes me very, very happy.
All mine until the end of November. <3

I got a new rear tire for my bike - about 15000km on the previous one. Not bad when I've had it less than a year?
Overall the bike is going well. The occasional squeak in random weather, and the fuel tank chirps at me when it's lonely, but no real troubles. I have duct tape on it which makes it look a little less classy, but I'd rather that than scrape the shit out of it with my tank bag magnets or the bungee cord hooks.
It's so pretty <3

I took sights-alined to Animania over the weekend of the 5th-6th. We had a table to run, so I sat her at the corner of it and made her draw pictures to sell. I'm such a slavedriver.
It went well though. She made over $100 for herself over the weekend in $5 sketches of nerds and characters. My opinion was that they were a little underpriced but they were easier to sell that way :/
missdeep was there for a whole week over the event as well, so we had the whole family living in the Fortress. Many lols were had, though we have a confoundingly full bottle of Vanilla Coke left over.
I hope she can visit again before sights-alined has to go back to that frozen wasteland she calls a home country.

On the Saturday night of the convention we also had a bucks party to go to.
It was for a guy I've known since high school, his sister was in my year and is my friend.
We're pretty close (he got me the first out of the two roses I've ever been given) so I was pretty glad I could go, even if we had to leave a bit early due to more convention the next day.
We spent the evening in the VIP function room of Pure Platinum in Sydney.
"It's a strip club where naked women dance all night long," as sights-alined puts it.
(I can't argue, it's the truth.)
The beer was expensive but my friends kept buying them for me so I didn't have to. I tried to buy them drinks wherever I could but I'm clearly lacking in timing skills.
We were divided into a few tables, and we happened to be at a table with a gay guy and a straight guy who wasn't interested in small-breasted women, so we spent our time commenting on the quality of the lace/number of rhinestones on their outfits and butterfaces. I think it made for a lot more fun than we would've had otherwise - sights-alined was on the verge of putting out her eyeballs with an empty beer bottle a few times.
She's not much into looking at boobs for a flaming homosexual :/
Neither was I, really - it was more about the people we went there with.
So yeah, I had a pretty good time.
Although I may have scarred my girlfriend for life.

:D

Anyway.
I took some time off that first week, but I'm back at work now.
Might take some time off around our birthdays, or closer to the end of visit. Not really sure what works yet, but I have enough leave accrued to do whatever, really.
We haven't really planned sightseeing this time around, but there's a few places I think we'd like to go to again, and a few more new places.

I found out yesterday that one of my close family friends (pretty much an uncle to me, I've known him all my life) died of cancer on the Saturday night.
It's been a long fight - over 7 years now I think - so it wasn't unexpected.
Still sucks though.
The funeral is this Thursday, so my sister will pick me up and we'll go together.
They're holding it at the same place they held Zenta's so many years ago.
It's a really pretty garden and the weather looks to be good, and I think that's about all you can ask of a funeral.

I think that's about it for now.
