Apartment is going well, still putting random bits and pieces away. It's slowly getting more organised and looking more like a home I guess, but it still feels like a really long sleep-over. We could do with a tv still, I think
leviathan777 is aiming to bring his huge tv down this weekend, just in time for Kubrick week.
I'm playing summer comp field hockey on Wednesday nights with a uni/animu club friend. Last night was my second game, and I think I'm slowly improving and remembering the skills I had in high school. (I keep realising that I graduated high school 7 years ago. SEVEN. It makes me feel a bit old.) I feel only pleasantly tired from it, this week. Last week my legs were painful, leaden pieces of junk. Before the game had finished, even. This is what a desk job has done to me. The aim of this is to get me marginally fit again while having fun. So far, so good.
My uncle is currently minding my new bike in Lismore. On the 29th I'm going to fly there, stay the night, and then bring it home over the following 2 days. It'll be around 850km, and I'll get to stay the night with
missdeep at the halfway point.
As soon as I get it home it'll need its first service. O moneys.
Today I got a back tire for my current bike, maps for my journey (only to realise that the woman gave me the coastal maps, when I'll be heading inland...) and comprehensive insurance for the bike. First time I've really been able to afford that, or even need it, given the value of my previous vehicles. I also posted my registration papers to my uncle, so he can get it registered in my name.
I feel pretty lucky to have all these people so willing to help me out with this.
Not much more than a month to go before life resumes. <3
