Well, today is a slow day. As of a few weeks ago I now have a job doing tech support for Sony VAIO PCs.
I suppose the job is good enough, I'm paid well, especially for a starting salary. The enviornment couldn't be any more static though. We don't even get our own invididual cubicles. No, we get half-squares aligned in diagnol(I swear I used to be able to spell that, I've forgotten) rows.
The people are nice, alot of 'em are smokers though. Serious temptation for me there, very serious temptation. I resist my best though. Met a few cool people. I'm actually at work at this very moment, which is a funny thing, updating my journal from work.
We've had some rather odd calls, in the time I've been here. One lady was your typical jewish mother sort. High pitched voice, talked all the time, interrupted you, and wouldn't drop the issue even if it meant saving her own life.
Another man was pissed, his motherboard was screwed over, so he did a search online and found that Sony did at one time have a set of rather bad motherboards. Well, despite the fact that his computer model didn't match in either number, make, or year, he decided that must be his problem as well and called in to rant for the next half an hour about how horrendous we at Sony were.
That was an exercise in patience, I tell you, resisting the urge not to call him an arrogant, foolish jackass. Get this, his computer is almost four years old, too! What, you expected the fucking thing to last forever? Jesus christ.
I acted nice to him though, sympathetic and all that crap. For awhile.
Then he hung up after another round of accusations.
Well, I've got a call, time to go, seeya all on the flip side.
rant,
work
