it's been a super busy past coupla days. We spent the whole weekend at Wizard Anaheim Comic Con, meeting up with old friends, making new ones and nerding it up big time. This convention was more of a pop culture convention than a comic con, cuz half of the floor was made up of tv celebrities & movie stars, so it was interesting seeing some of them, since alot of them hadn't been seen in a movie since the 80's. I wanted to meet Erin Grey from the Buck Rogers In The 25th Century tv show, but I just couldn't bring myself to spent $25 for a autograph or pic, especially when there was so many comic books and other nice thingies I could bring home. She looked great though! One actress looked incredibly stunning in her older age-Olivia D'Abo, who was in one of the Conan The Barbarian movies. Heck, she looks better now. Hubba Hubba. Unfortunately, I didn't get a pic of her either, but here's an old one of her from that Conan movie.

Course there was the usual sexy cosplay girls decked out as Wonder Woman and Emma Frost n' such. But, tho not very sexy, he still was my fave of the convention-Capt. Marvel-SHAZAM!!

Anyhoo, I met up again with BERNIE WRIGHTSON, legendary horror comic artist and actually got a pic with him this time-

He was much more talkative this time.
I met another of my all time fave comic artists MICHAEL GOLDEN and attended his panel, where he let us all in on the workings of the comic book industry from his start at Marvel in the late 70's/ early 80's. A cool chap!
I also got my pic taken with him, but I look horrendous in it and refuse to post it.
Also had an awesome chat with animator/Playboy illustrator DEAN YEAGLE and his wife. He even drew an original sketch in a sketchbook I bought from him. AWESOME! No one draws sexy girls like him!

Went to a panel hosted by another legendary comic artist BILL SIENKIEWICZ which was hugely inspiring! Talked to him a bit aftrwards and he filled me in on all kinds of cool stories about working at Marvel Comics in the 70's and getting the job because of NEAL ADAMS. Such a thrill!
Same goes for MARV WOLFMAN, who we always check out his panels, cuz he's not only a great writer, but also gives out lotsa cool info about the inner workings of the comic, game and tv industries. Plus he showed us a preview of the upcoming TEEN TITANS book he wrote with art by the one and only GEORGE PEREZ!
Also met up with D.J. KIRKBRIDE, editor and writer of the super awesome comic collection called POPGUN. I met him a few weeks ago at another convention at a panel for MONSTERVERSE's BELA LUGOSI'S TALES FROM THE GRAVE which he has written a story for an upcoming issue. He got a good look at my art prtfolio and gave me some incredibly useful advice and pointers and it was great seeing him again. He's a fun guy to talk to and you must pick up POPGUN. It's really a beautiful collection of comics!

Check it out at
www.popguncomics.com/I need to pick up the other issues. It's just plain awesome!
I also met BILLY MARTINEZ, an artist that does some eye dazzling paintings and artwork. I suggest highly checking out his work at
billymartinezgirls.carbonmade.com/ Of course, one of the biggest thrills of the weekend was meeting PIERRE BERNARD JR. from THE CONAN SHOW again. We met him last summer and he remembered us and was genuinely happy to see us again. He is such a blast to hang with and he gave us a dvd and buttons!

The wifey commissioned him to do his version of the Rockitqeen character I created and he did an awesome job!

PIERRE is one of the coolest guys ever! We had a pick taken with him, but the wifey refuses to let me post a pic of her, so she cropped herself out and so ya just get PIERRE and I!

So, the convention was a blast. I spent way too much money and all the walking wore us out but it was worth it to see some familiar faces and meet new friends. We stopped at a restaurant on the way home and lo and behold, The Batmobile drove in shortly after we got there. It was parked inside of the convention all weekend but photos weren't allowed to be taken of it. So this was a perfect opportunity to snap a pic of it!
