FASTER RAGZTER!! DRAW!! DRAW!!
Schlocktober waz yet another busy month for The Ragzter. So, there wazn't much time for funnin' around. Atari Stacey & I did manage to make it out on a cold Saturday Night to our local Ren Fair, a few trips to the comic store and I even had a visit from my Michigander sister and her hubby, where we went out to The Cheesecake Factory and had good times with family. My sis even bought the original pencil artwork of my Captain Teague piece! How coolio is that?
School has been keeping me sooperdooperly busy tho, with this quarter being mainly video type projects.
One project entailed us using old video footage and make a music video out of it. Cool enough, but I was suprised that the instructor didn't know the footage was from the old 1983 film Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance.
One would think that someone teaching film and film editing would be aware of that movie, but the teacher is pretty cool regardless. So we were to take this footage and edit it into a music video with the limited footage we had and make it interesting.
I edited it all together to the tune "Lovercall" by Danko Jones and went with, what I would think, waz a pretty obvious theme of everyones fave rawk n rawl subject matter-SEX.
So, this is what I came up with-
The teach liked it, for the most part, but he couldn't seem to "grasp" the theme of it. The rest of the class clearly understood the sexuality theme.
I thought it was quite obvious, too obvious, but sometimes I wonder about my instructors.
I also have him for another class, Storyboarding, and he's had us take a scene from movies and storyboard them up. I tackled another classic, "Faster Pussycat!Kill!! Kill!!" and storyboarded a scene up. I kinda liked how some of the panels turned out, so I thought I'd share that with ya also-
We also had to work up some storyboards for our own idea and I decided to make one for my supermonkey character Zimian Z. Then we have to make an animatic out of it, so here be Zimian Z and his giant robot-
This stuff and more has been keeping me pretty busy. Halloween waz spent working, but in the earlier part of my fave holiday that I never seem to be able to participate in anymore, the wifey and I did mange to go out and vote for the king of the USA. Standing in line awaiting our chance to cast our vote we managed to overhear some guy in line yapping on his cell phone. His conversation of interest went like this "So what you've gotta do is find an apartment and a landlord who doesn't care if you're drunk all the time". Hmmm. Also a woman was pulled out of line by the store security for shoplifting. Ya'd think that if you were gonna shoplift you'd do it AFTER voting so you could book outta the place before ya got yerself caught.
And theze are the people that are helping to elect the next leader of this country.
After that, we shopped arund a bit and I nabbed this-
It'z a bad ass Creature From The Black Lagoon head belt buckle!!!
Freekin' cool!
Also grabbed me the latest Jack Kirby Omnibus collection-Omac!
Now I'm broke again for a few weeks, but someday when I find the time I'll be able to enjoy what little stuff I acquire!
Back to the boards, more math homework, more art projects and more stuffins to come.
