LOOSENING THE NOTCHES ON THE BELT OF MY MIND!
If you go see "Beowulf", make sure ya catch it in IMAX 3d, cuz it rox! I waz skeptical cuz I'm not a fan of "realistic" rendering of you humanz, they alwayz look like flippyfloppy art maniquinz. That'z my biggest problem with the Spiderman movies, he lookz like a ragdoll being tossed around on puppet stringz in front of a New York skyline.
Maybe it'z because everything in "Beowulf" iz animated that the characters are easier to visually digest and the 3D effect removez it even one more step away from reality so it works better in the context.
They still can't seem to get the eyeballz right in theze thingz,they all look blind, but the story,the dialogue and the action scenes are excellent.
Crispen Glover, who doez the voice of Grendel iz a brilliant choice and the dragon scene at the end will have ya at the edge of your buttocks!
I didn't expect much from it, but I enjoyed every minute of it and I love the way the classic tale waz approched thanx to the writing of Neil Gaiman, who turns the basic sword n' sorcery tale into an interesting story about the loss of one's freedom, the end of the need for heroes in the new religion, and that we all,, whether you accept it or not, have a Demon Bitch Mistress that we serve.
That and the scene where Beowulf's sword drips thru the fingers of Angelina Jolie's animated golden handz iz just plain hot. Best cartoon porn I've ever seen!

My mini Turkey Day vacation haz been nice, course being off work for a few dayz on a job that's quickly coming to an end iz a little disheartening on the wallet, but I still enjoy the time to recollect my scattered brain and refreshen my oompah. We went and had our feast at a friendz and her families place. I should've brought my Edward Scissorhandz glovez to cut the turkey with, but I wazn't thinkin'.Dig 'em-they're cool!

I got those at work. Last week, the illusionist goth king Criss Angel filmed a segmant for an upcoming Halloween special at work. I didn't see much of him, he haz an entourage and a gaggle of hired audience members come in to ooo and awww over his highly edited and set up magic tricks, so we weren't allowed to participate. Granted, all magic iz set up and it's about tricking the audience, but believe me, his shtick izn't nowhere near what it apperaz on tv. But who am I to bust bubbles,. I just wish he'd magically make my paycheck bigger for all the extra work we have to do to accomidate his magic ass.

Last week I hadda run around a few thrift storez to find some junk to make an art project with and I stumbled upon this painting that waz in the pile of disowned and discarded original art of the infamous Jane Fonda mug shot from the 70's or whateverwhen. It made me laugh that someone actually took the time to paint it, then it ended up in a junkpile of Goodwill paintings amongst others. Heck, thrift store art alwayz givez me a quircky thrill. I wonder about the backstories of them all, like who painted them and how they ended up in a thrift store. There waz even one that waz a painting of a submarine and in the clouds was, I assume, the face of a family member that must've passed away. Kinda sad in a way that this tribute to a fallen family member by an artist with very limited talent waz dumped off into a Goodwill bin. Ya find all kindz of stuff like this.
