Black Forest Flaxseed Bread
Originally uploaded by Ragnvaeig. We're having xerlia and iterum as houseguests tonight, and I got it into my little skull that I wanted to make something with flaxseed as a breakfast food.
I managed to find an interesting beginning, which I baked as a bread instead of as muffins (took about 45 minutes in a normal loaf pan), using whole flax seed instead of ground and adding a couple generous fistfuls of dried fruit. The result tastes like a Black Forest cake without the coconut and cream, and with just a hint of a crunch.
I call it a success.
