Tonight's Dinner
Originally uploaded by Ragnvaeig. One of my friends posted a supper yesterday that made me crave seafood, so with sea scallops being a reasonable-for-scallops price, I picked up about half a kilo. Huzzah for living an hour from a deep-water port!

I sauteed 250 g or so of fresh local asparagus from my favourite farm stand, cooking them in both lemon and butter. I added a little more butter to the pan, then seared the scallops for 90 seconds per side.

I swished a little olive oil into the still-sticky pan, and heated through a couple cloves of garlic, then tossed in a diced local tomato to deglaze the pan with the water it would exude. I tossed the al dente linguine with olive oil and topped it with the tomatoes, some dried basil, and a palmful of bread crumbs.

smarriveurr pronounced it delicious. :)
