Beginning Blackwork - Starting the Collar

Scarletwork Collar
Originally uploaded by Ragnvaeig. I've finished both cuff details as much as I think I ever shall. The 3-stitch accents never anchored right, so I'd rather just not bother with them, and the cuffs look sufficiently spiffy without.

This photo shows somewhere between 10 and 15 hours' work on the collar, though I'll have to backtrack a bit for having stitched the rightmost cross one thread too far down. (This annoys me, because I'd already screwed up that one cross three times.) Wish I could get the lattice stitching to square up a little more nicely, but I can't have both squared stitches and tight stitches.

The fabric is getting so heavily embroidered that it's becoming quite stiff. I wonder whether that's a structural bonus in the finished garment.

Still having a little difficulty with the anchored ends fuzzing out a little and disrupting the cleanness of the line. Unsure how to correct that.
