LONG POST LIKE WHOA.
i got the details on our lil fam. vaca.
we're leaving about 8 (which means we'll actually leave around 8:30, 8:45 or so) on saturday, march 19. an approx. 12 hour drive to memphis. check in at the hotel. it's a suite, so i guess i'll be stuck on the pull-out. *sigh* (actually, i totally prefer the idea of sleeping on a pull-out - it means i wouldn't have to share a bed w/ either of my sisters.) sunday, monday and tuesday we'll tour memphis, highlighting (i just pulled the following out of a document my mom typed up... actually, i dont know for sure if it was my mom or my dad, but i'm assuming my mom typed it up b/c at the end it says "EASTER SUNDAY March 27! See what the Easter Bunny brings!") Graceland, Pink Palace, Rock n Soul Museum, Nat’l Civil Rights Museum, Stax Museum of Amer. Soul Music, Sun Studio for starters.
RIGHT. anyways... then:
DEPART: Wed. March 23 for Little Rock! Approx. 2 hrs to Clinton Library and Museum. 2 rooms reserved @ Comfort Inn, North Little Rock. Also: tour River District, Central High School, MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History.
not really sure the point of going to central high school. apparently it was a big deal and lots of important stuff happened there during the '60s relating to the civil rights movement. i cant help but think, "it's a school! won't they be having classes??" heh. anyway...
DEPART: Thursday March 24 for St. Louis. Tour riverfront, take a ride on the the Arch! See what else we choose. Hotel not booked yet. Go to hotel and relax, swim, whatever.
DEPART: FRIDAY March 25 for approx. 8 hr trip to Portage!
and then we'll be home. wahoo. at least i'll get to miss some school... i think... just checked the school site. from what i can tell, spring break will be us missing good friday on march 25th, then we'll also have march 28 through the 31 off, which is the week after easter. so all in all i'll get to miss four days of school. yay!!!
ANYWAYs... today... was rudely awakened by rude mother who then rudely bugged the crap out of me for an hour until she left for work. ate breakfast, then got ready for riding lessons. i actually stretched a bit, since i hadn't ridden since, like, the second weekend in december. so, we get up there quite late. get our horses, get them saddled, bridled, head up, ride... i've decided that i do like to ride, i just don't like showing, and riding isn't such a huge deal that it used to be. i might still ride after this august, but how often is still up in the air.
came home... ate hot cocoa and choco chip cookies w/ papa while he told me about our trip. he's been working on getting our hotel reservations. then i was just messing around on the comp, when at about 1:30ish, i hear my mom come in! wtf! usually she works 'til four on saturdays! gah! so my afternoon was henceforth ruined by stupid ass mother-person. bleh.
been basically lounging. worked a bit on the 4h website. its comin along nicely i think.
http://www.freewebs.com/newdirections4h <-- that's the site. check it out; tell me what you think. after i finish typing this, i'll go work on that a bit... maybe.
startin to get a bit nervous. tomorrow is my first time cantoring at church. *gulp* last night i worked on the music for a bit, but i still think i'm going to generally suck ass on most of it. i suppose i could fake a coughing attack when i screw up. lol, hey it's worked before! ok, not in public... see, in 8th grade once, i was supposed to play my solo for s/e for mr. good, but i hadn't practiced at all, so i go in his office, get all set up, coughing a bit, take a deep breath like i'm about to start playing, and suddenly have a major coughing fit. i pretended like i really did want to play it, while coughing until i almost actually did hack something up, but he let me go. yay. tho i suppose it would be, like, sacrilege to do that in a church.
*sigh* ok, i suppose i've typed enough. i'm surprised at how warm it is up here. maybe it's b/c the oven's on downstairs, or maybe b/c i'm still wearing three shirts from riding lessons this morning. either way, my fingers aren't numb the way they usually are. heh.
Peace and love,
