idiavalo's supposed to watch irreversible tonight with some of the css people but they just found out that the tickets are sold out. i'd say it was a pity if it was a show that didn't have a 12-minute rape scene. i'm not being prudish really. it's just that i have an extremely visual memory and i'm not sure if a show like that is going to stick around my memory like tar in the lungs of a chronic smoker.

plus, this situation also means that i'd get to spend more of tonight with idiavalo. *wicked grin*

today's meeting went ok though there were a few things that were particularly annoying. first of all, most of everyone came in late even though the meeting's supposed to start at 12.30pm. i figured no one takes the timing seriously anymore because we're so used to starting 15 minutes to half an hour after the schedule time because of delays or dallying. it was worse today because we couldn't use our regular room (aaron, are you reading this?? ;P) where we usually sit on the carpeted floor. we had to shift to luke's room and sit on chairs. which means that if people joined the circle late, we had to shift our chairs to make room for them. which means that a lot of noise was generated at periodic intervals. not to mention that clarence and i kept getting interrupted in mid-sentence.

eventually, when we got down to the lao pok activity, i realise that the younger kids didn't really understand the significance of the story and the drawing after that. it turned out quite different from what i saw at the arts retreat and what i kinda expected too. well, then, one would say that that's the thing about expectations isn't it? it's not always synonymous with reality. true to such cliches, i was a bit disappointed because i felt that today's activities didn't entirely convey what i'd hope it'd convey. and i thought the kids didn't get everything they could have out of the session too. partly my fault, partly the fault of the restlessness of 15-year-olds. so, pinkgelatin, maybe you shouldn't put too much pressure on yourself or your hopes/expectations of the musical. i know it's easier said than done and i probably don't know better but spoodie might tell you (as he told me once when i got stressed out planning for cg) that the more you try to be in perfect control of everything, the more it feels wrong in every sense of the word. you hold on to the steering wheel but let Him drive the boat. then again, that's just my two cent's worth dearie. oh well, there's always the therapeutic value of LJ. ;)
