I am the worst otaku ever. I go to an anime convention and what do I do? Spend the whole weekend geeking out about Doctor Who. And I don’t mean ‘cos of the Easter special (which I haven’t seen yet, so keep spoilers to yourself)! All but one of the t-shirts I bought is DW-related, I got excited because I saw DW toys (even though they were ones I didn’t even want) at one of the manga booths, started wishing DW gashapon existed (c’mon BBC and Japan-I need random Time Lord figurines to go with all my shinigami and state alchemists!), and to top it all off, first cosplayer I see when I go into the dealers’ room on Sunday is this person (who I kinda love for obvious reasons, especially the 3-D glasses). Fuck yeah, I literally squee'd when I saw him. I get to meet two voice actors whose work I adore and an awesome j-rock band, get a handshake from one of the actors and a hug from the other, plus autographs from *all* of them, and this guy is the one who made me squee, wtf self...:
I just love how the Aizen-sama in this Bleach group is wearing kitty ears:
My autographed Hangry & Angry poster (happy birthday again, Hangry!):
Don’t know if this girl is dressed as anyone in particular, but I love her hair:
A pretty pink gothic lolita:
Some geishas:
A Tsubasa group whose Fai had apparently wandered off:
The wooden katana I got for only $10 (if you look closely, you can see the dragon carved around the blade):
L!:
Sailor Scouts:
Afro Samurai:
Jay and Silent Bob:
A Naruto group (no idea what version of the characters these were, but it looked cool):
A pair of ninjas:
The happy dancing toilet paper roll!:
I’m pretty sure she was Yoshi and I think he was the little pink dinosaur-thing from Mario:
Big Link vs. the most adorable little Link ever:
This couple said they weren’t anyone in particular, they just wanted to dress up:
To finish the day and the con off, I present the greatest gashapon I’ve ever seen-Tomoyo and Kero from Card Captor Sakura hiding behind some bushes with a video camera! (sorry it's kinda blurry, our camera's focus goes to hell on close-ups):
