I'm calling it now-- this is the first Horse-mecha of the Robo-Apocalypse

So I pop up the MSN homepage today and I see this: CNET story- 'Wearable Bot Said to Make You Stronger'.

I click on it wondering if it's maybe about those guys at Sakura-Con trying to make their own mech (still don't know if they've actually made any progress in the 4 years I've gone), but it's not. It's some kind of suit that they can use to help people with weak muscles or paralysis move, which is definitely a good thing.  Way better than a bunch of idiots running around in their own Gundams or Evangelion units would ever be anyway (the jury is a bit more lenient towards the Gurren Lagann because Kamina is too awesome not to, and Knightmare Frames because I just can't resist any mech that is not only designed by Clamp, but literally has rollerskates and uses USB drives for keys).

My problems here? The suit's name is 'HAL', and it's made by a company called 'Cyberdyne'. Yes. As in the killer computer from 2001: A Space Odyssey and the company that made the killer robots in the Terminator movies.

Red flags of cyborg doom, anyone?

Dammit Japan, I know it's Golden Week and you're celebrating a bunch of holidays right now, but lay off the sake dudes.

silly japan is silly, wtf, bitching, why? why would you do that?
