Re-do Week #2

My first impression when reading the textbook, “Literature a World of Writing,” is that it’s going to be boring and has lots of important information to tell me regarding about certain topics. The way I was taught at first was to read the whole chapter then go back and figure out the parts that I truly didn’t understand. Now days, I go after the information that is important, rather than, reading the whole thing without even understanding what it means. First of all, I tend to write all the unknown definitions and look them up before I even start reading. Once I reach to where I don’t understand the text then I go back and read closely and stop several times to talk about each individual sentence to understand the meaning of it. If that doesn’t help, then I need to take the initiative to go to the teacher or to my fellow classmates and discuss was written and get there point of views and defer it from mines. During my first stages of reading, I do tend to read as if it was a story but I knew that it would be a waste of time just because it is dealing with my English assignments. English assignments tend to add extra work and more detailed than most assignments are given. But during my free spare time, I would take the opportunity to read it as if it was a story. So that way I will occupy myself in a way that I will not be bored.
