BOYCOTT SAIGON 39!!!

Just for reference, I'm currently feeling: pissed off

Okay, it takes a LOT to truly piss me off. Here are a few hints:

Don't litter in front of me, don't be a liar, and don't be a bigot.

The owner of "Saigon 39" on 39th Street in Kansas City hit two out of three. The bastard tossed a still-lit, half-smoked cigarette on the ground in front of me. I picked it up and told him that he dropped it, and suggested that maybe he wanted to find a proper receptacle. Apparently, he doesn't like being challenged by "little women" so he started snarling at me and told me to go away. I told him that it was a public area so I had every right to walk there, and I didn't like people littering my neighborhood.

That's when he told me that I needed to go home and get a man who can control me.

And THAT'S when it was ON. I told him I was quite fine where I was (public space), and I was quite happy with my wife.

And he WENT OFF. "THAT'S your problem! You're a tomboy! You're disgusting! That's sick. You get out of here now before I call the police! You need a man to fix you. You're sick and disgusting! Go away!" He went inside.

So I started to read the restaurant information on the outer door of the restaurant. He burst back outside. "What are you doing? You going to read our information?"

"It's on the door, isn't it? That's public info. And I'm going to start a boycott."

At that point, he laughed derisively and said, "A boycott? You need to go home. You can't do that. You need to go home and find a man to fix you. Go away before I call the police! You're disgusting!"

So I left. And now I intend to spread this story EVERYWHERE. 39th Street is a pretty liberal zone. I can't imagine this sort of restaurant reputation will be good for their business. So please pass this story around. Link it to everyone you know in the Kansas City area who likes Asian Cuisine. I'll keep the post public. I'll happily destroy this business. That might not be too hard - I've heard from a few people that the food is mediocre at best. The "Vietnam Cafe" down the street is much better.

The other option is a "Guerrilla Gay Lunch," kinda like the "Guerrilla Gay Bar" concept. Who wants to join me for a lunch of flamers, queers, dykes, butches, fairy boys, leather men, and anyone else who likes to throw homophobia back in people's faces? We could do that... or just go for the simple boycott without crashing the place first.

Anyway, who's with me?

Consider going to one of these sites and leaving a review. OR, if you get there and you already see a review that one of us obviously wrote, "recommend" that review, which will boost its visibility. Here are the sites:

Edited to add (again):
Apparently, this guy might not be the actual owner. He just ACTED like this was his restaurant and only his restaurant. From what a couple of people have said, he might be related to the owner - the son of the owner or something. Apparently, the owner has five sons, and one of them is actually gay (according to what I've been told). I don't know the whole backstory. I'm just a person who encountered a bigot on 39th Street who acted like he owned the restaurant in question.

Still... let's see how this pans out. Will the owner fire him? Apologize for his behavior? Or defend his hateful speech?
