Exhausted

My eyes are swollen and blackened underneath. I spent part of last night at the hospital with mom. She is fluid filled and swollen. Sitting up is difficult, laying down is out of the question cause she coughs and sputters, and standing won't work either. Her skin is now very yellow and odd looking. There are no longer any signs of her eyeballs ever being white, and she is in constant pain.

RI hospital admitted her yesterday. She is in the oncology ward. What a depressing floor. So much impending death and pain. To see the condition of the patients is disturbing. Hairless, wearing protective facial masks, dragging IV posts to and fro. Not one person on that floor looks .....??

I left work yesterday early to go home and work on my husband's birthday present. The robe I embroidered for him about 3 Christmases ago is torn and tattered and he still wears it. I bought a new robe with the intentions of embroidering it with a large American flag and bald eagle across the back. Knowing it would take me atleast 3 hours to run I left at 3 figuring I could get it done and still make it to the gym. Gonna be very late, considering today is his day, and I haven't even started.
I dropped off a loaf of bread at my mom's house on my way home so she wouldn't have to go out. She had called her dr.on Friday with no response and again yesterday morning to tell him how swollen she was. I got there at 3:10 and was livid because she still hadn't heard from him and looked horrific. i have never seen her look so horrible.
I called her doctor right away and the receptionist tried putting me off until I said listen, he hasn't called her back and she is really bad. Her doctor got right on the phone and I told him what was happening. He said she needed to go to the hospital right away. She did, and was admitted. My step dad drove her.

I came home, got my kids settled, called family and cooked dinner. My aunt came with me to the hospital. We stayed for a few hours. Mom still has a warped sense of humor, finding some small thing in the room or her condition to joke about. Silly woman.

I'm in MA today on the road. She knows to call my cell incase of an emergency. Not happy. Need tons of makeup to look normal today. Oh well.
