Fashion Show 101
So I just went to a fashion show. Leo's. Because, as Jen instructed me, if you "have" a gay man, you gotta support. (I want to point out that gay men are the most over-active, over-involved people EVER! Ah. For a major example, see Phil. :P) So the NOIR: Evolution fashion show was tonight in the MI Union Ballroom.
As soon as I got in the line, I realized I didn't belong. This feeling was confirmed when I entered the ballroom. First off, I was lighter than 95% of the crowd (I might up that to 98%... seriously). Secondly, Leo had failed to tell me that there was a dress code. Now I supposed I should have known there would be a set level of "what to wear" to a fashion show, but I only made up my mind to go to the show because I was at a frustrated point with my AnthroBio paper and because I was feeling guilty about my partial decision to not go (damnit, Jen!) So I just changed into jeans, put on tennis shoes and rolled out the door.
DUDE! It was like the whole joint was a show! ALL the girls were dressed to the 9's... shit, no the 10s! I think mine were the only pair of tennis shoes in a 500 ft radius. And (most) of the guys were lookin' amazing. I mean, these were beautiful beautiful men in suits! (Not metrosexuals, Jen... just well dressed men.) I was mad impressed. I just sat in my chair, reading Kwame Anthony Appiah's Cosmopolitanism and taking it all in.
The show was pretty good. Gotta give it mad props for being a college fashion show. Leo was maybe one of two hispanics in the show, but he was hot in all his outfits. I loved his "Noir" and "Blanc" outfits.
I jumped out before the press at the door got too much to deal with, esp. cause I wanted to get back here and get some more work done. I've realized that I'm not going to have a draft of my AnthroBio paper done by tomorrow, so Mary's just gonna have to be receptive Tuesday. :P Damnit, it's a draft!
I'm feeling better today. I think I'm kicking this thing in 5-6 days. Oooh, yeah! No antibiotics either! Doctors are so damn quick to be like, "Ack, sinus infection, ANTIBIOTICS NOW!" And I'm like, "Ack, no!" And they go, "Ahhh, DEATH!" And I'm like, "Watch me." Bwahahaha.
Ok, I'm a little crazy right now. Gotta settle down and get some work done. Much love to all!
