kerry lost. 4 more years and this time he has a mandate and a republican congress. you know how much legislation can be passed through congress. the powers of the democrats have been reduced to the power to filibuster. the wost part is that the young voters didnt vote. after all the hype, after all that press. they didnt come out. those that did were overwhelmingly for kerry. but heres the thing- i dont care who they are for, they should have voted. it pisses me off. why the fuck didnt they vote? its not that hard, if you dont feel like standing in lines, fill out an absentee ballot and vote that way. jsut vote. because protesting and yelling are great, but ultimately your power lays not in your right to protest but in your right to vote, if you ignore that you are signing off all your rights and placing them in the hands of everyone else. i hate being 16, i feel powerless because i cant vote. and i hate all those people who could vote and didnt. i feel like lilly from princess diaries, i want to change the world but i have zip power. but you can bet that the next presidential election i will be there. watch out america we're coming in '08.
