Writer's Block: House Call

Apr 28, 2008 01:50

This weekend I visited two houses. Stephen's co-worker, Jennifer, hosted a department end of sememster Luau, and Andrea  & Cory hosted an ABF picnic. I didn't feel great at either event. I'm recovering from Strep throat and the allergies are really doing a number on my head this spring. Jennifer's house has painted walls. Very pretty colors, and you can see two or three different shades from one spot. Yellow, light blue, green, pink... lavender upstairs. pretty light blue tile floors that are very practical when you have a pool on your patio. She didn't clean up her laundry room before everyone came over. clothes and towels and junk strewn all over the place. She also took me upstairs to see her daughter's room because I was talking about painting Elizabeth's room lavender. That room and the computer room on the way were also a mess. I'm always assessing how much mess other people have to see if my house keeping meets the national standard. I think it does.

Andrea's house is where I was more comfortable. I've been there a lot more often, for one thing. And I have no fear of her. It's so easy to say the wrong thing around Jennifer. the more I worry about it the more likely I am to do it.
