i was not able to sport any one of my cute spring dresses or my canvas wedges for easter because it was 28 degrees when i headed out of the house yesterday. so wrong. we actually had a fire going! chicago is so nutty. warmer weather is just around the corner but it just can't get here fast enough! i've pulled out my summer beauty products - such as citrus coconut lotion and lip gloss with spf 15 in it - in a lame attempt to fool my senses into believing that i'm about to go lay out on the beach. i listen to OAR and sublime and 311 as those are my preferred windows-down-jams-up CD's -- again, trying to fool myself somehow.

this past weekend was a delight. we had a winter storm on friday so i actually left work at 3pm and spent the rest of the day lounging in front of the TV. saw 'american gangster' and really quite enjoyed it. denzel is the man, no question. saturday i drove out to wheaton to spend the day with my family. it was quite the throw-back to younger days. my dad, sister, and i went out to the mall and dad ended up buying us each a soft serve swirl cone from DQ. it was so relaxing having my dad carting us around like little kids, blasting allman brothers in his car and eating ice cream. as you can see from this post, i really enjoy a good fantasy/dose of nostalgia. easter sunday i went to church with the family and then we spent the rest of the day eating. kristin and allen joined the festivities as well.

as you may remember, my mom got a new kitty last week and boy is she precious. her name is Lulu and she loves to play and cuddle. perfect little kitten. so the whole day was consumed with finding new and exciting ways to increase her verticle leap.

final note - as sunday night rolled in, i started to have trouble breathing. not to the level of hyperventilating but just overall shortness of breath. like every breath i take is a big heaving sigh. i think its anxiety. it hasn't calmed down even after a full night's sleep so if i'm still in this state tomorrow, i'm going to the doctor.

or so i say now.
