 several things.

one, being suddenly forced into quasi-veganism has become a pretty good thing.  i am slowly figuring out how to make peanut sauce and saute eggplant.  today i infused some olive oil with a bunch of left over basil and i am wondering what's going to happen to me after i eat all of it, fat-wise.  things like this make me very ( Read more... )

she does this thing involving lying on her side on the carpet and using her back leg to push her sideways along the carpet.  this creates a really strange effect in which her healthy (i would not call her plump) weight + her puffy gray fur makes me think of a silver fish flailing and oozing along the floor.

 i know other peoples' dreams are the most boring things on the planet.

mine, however, have been ~weird~ lately.  i think they are just reflecting the schizophrenic nature of my thoughts/feelings lately.  i've had and changed several sets of major plans in the last year and i've just done it again, but luckily i think my current one is the most ( Read more... )

oh, today i viewed the most amazing house.  i've seen it online for a couple of months and drove by it on sunday.  though the absurdly high price paired with the extreme state of dereliction instantly ruled it out as a prospect, i forwarded the link to my realtor anyway.  it is in a very picturesque state of decay and i wanted to see the inside.  ( Read more... )

 is saving money really saving.  i modestly refuse to spend money during the week only to pour all of those savings into a bottle of maker's mark and some ginger ale in glass bottles.

pain and misery are the true breeders of empathy. i feel so much sadness for other people and can't handle their lows. my own pain is old news.

 more research work on dead relatives i've never met.

a few years back i had an office job which included a lot of free time.  i got an account on ancestry.com and tirelessly traced my family back to their pre-yank points of origin.  it was pretty fascinating.  i filled in lots of gaps that will never be detailed to me.  i never met my grandfather, ( Read more... )
