Once upon a time, someone somewhere decided to create a cute little website called
Craftster (I could be more specific with this info, but that would require research...and that's not the point of this story!) Better yet, they started these things called craft swaps, where people can send and receive crafts themed around, say,
Joss Whedon.
This is kind of the best thing ever.
This doctor has a PhD in ADORABLENESS.
Okay, so point of clairfication: these are the crafts I made for my swap partner. She's still working on the ones she'll send to me, though I'll probably post pics as well. So this is what she got in the mail when she opened her package:
The un-numbered item is a letter from bad horse. Here are more pictures:
It reads:
Bad horse
Bad horse
Bad horse
He's bad!
You aren't hearing fables,
He demands you stand aside
Bad horse is sick of stables
And he's going for a ride!
You must examine labels,
It's now time to decide:
Is good or evil
More your course?
(We hope it's evil!)
Signed,
Bad Horse
P.S. As we're currently away from our offices on our Evil Blitz of Los Angeles (E.B.O.L.A.), we sent you a few items to inform your choice. Evil Thomas Jefferson labeled everything--red for evil, and white for, ugh, good.
So each of the items had red or white ties on them to indicate whether they represented good or evil.
In package #1:
A good/evil tote bag. That's Bad Horse on the "evil" side, and Penny on the "good" side.
In package #2:
6 notecards--some good, some evil. (For better pics, look
here.)
And in #3 and #4:
A knit Billy / Dr.Horrible doll. I made gloves, boots, goggles and a lab coat, and the undressed doll matches Billy's outfit in "My Freeze Ray." The hair's not a dead-on match, but I wanted it to stick up when you put the goggles on. : )
The doll is based off a
brilliant pattern by
snuffykin. I'm actually working on a Doctor Who doll with the pattern as well, but he's not quite finished. Dunno when he will be done, exactly, but I'll post pics!
In other news, you can now read TV reviews, discussions and essays at
Critically Obsessed, a blog started by me and
shah_of_blah. (Leave me a comment there and I'll love you forever. Seriously.O
