Gadgeteering & G-shock's Riseman.

Allow me to have a celebratory wank as I have just gotten myself my first proper watch! I'm hopeless with watches as all the ones I've gotten for birthdays and other celebrations have been broken or stopped working within months, because of my intense and somewhat violent(?) nature. So I decided to go for something that's been said to hold most trauma, water and extreme conditions, and got myself the RISEMAN from casio's G-Shock series. And seriously, owning this gorgeous things makes me feel like I am indeed venturing into the realm of gadgeteering. heh.

Isn't she a beauty?
Besides the World Time & atomic sync on the actual watch feature there are some other really nifty features on the Riseman. Amongst some of the stuff this watch does, to name a few, are the following:
  • Multi-Band Atomic Timekeeping (US, UK, Germany, Japan, China)
  • Tough Solar Power
  • 200M Water Resistant
  • Altimeter
  • Barometer
  • Thermometer
  • 5 Daily Alarms (1 with snooze)
  • Countdown Timer (1 minute to 24 hours)
  • 1/100 second stopwatch (24 hours)
  • Measuring modes: Elapsed time, split time, 1st-2nd place times
  • Hourly Time Signal
Approx. battery life: 9 months on full charge (without further exposure to light)

The amount of stuff this watch does is just too awesome, and the user's manual is about the same size and thickness as the case the watch came in. I'm going to have so much fun figuring this baby out!

A friend of mine wants me to join in on the EDC (Everyday-carry), with this and my paracord bracelet I'm proud to say I'm on the way towards optimizing the amount of equipment I carry on a daily basis. Gotta be ready for the Necropocalypse, apocalypse or some shit like that!
