I also recently finished Undress Me in the Temple of Heaven http://www.amazon.com/Undress-Temple-Heaven-Susan-Gilman/dp/0446578924 by Susan Jane Gilman. If you love to travel (and perhaps miss the care-free younger you) then this is a book to pick up. Regardless, the picture of 1986 China from her perspective is very interesting and her story is almost unbelievable and, in that fact, very good. I liked her self-deprecation and her voice, but mostly revelled in her relating her experience of China.
