Work
Ack. I just wrote a post and lost it. I hate that.
In short, I'm enjoying work. I sorted the puppets yesterday and we have some amazing specimens. As usual, I start thinking about what child in my life would enjoy this one or that one. I also set up some Halloween displays. I don't think Finn would appreciate cobwebs and spiders this year, but he will be a monster! He loves "MONSTERS!" without really understanding the scary concept (I believe). We have some adorable unique costumes in the store.
This Wednesday will be my first time closing as a lead. The owner will be coming down to watch me and make sure that I do things correctly. I'm nervous and excited to have the responsibility. I've done it with another manager present several times, so I think I'm ready. I was also told in what ways I'm expected to grow into managing. I've never managed before, so this is going to be new for me. Exciting.
Finn had a blast while I was at work yesterday. He couldn't wait to show me his sit-and-spin abilities and his new building obsession. Seems like he had everyone laughing yesterday. I really appreciate that he's in such a small group (6 kids a day maximum, usually 4). I also appreciate that it's only toddlers and preschoolers. There seems to be a lot of camaraderie and I see Finn's social skills building.
Anyway, I love my little man.
