I feel dumb asking this, but I just learned the basics of 'How To Knit' but never received any instructions on 'How To Follow A Pattern' so there are things I don't know.
Like... When I'm supposed to cast on a particular number of stitches, do I count the slip knot I begin with before I start casting on stitches?
