Finally, some answers

After a week and a half, going to see the doctor a couple of times and an MRI test, I finally know what the next step is with my knee!  There is a lateral tear in the meniscus of my right knee and so I'm going to have to have surgery.  :(  There are other things going on in there as well, mostly related to my rheumatoid arthritis, and if I don't ( Read more... )

*crosses fingers* I hope it goes well, too, and that you manage until then.

Thank you! The hardest part right now is that I can't drive, it just hurts too much, so I'm housebound. It's not that I went out a lot anyway, but as soon as you can't go out, you want to! :)

Oh, ugh and ouch! It's good to know what it is and that now is a good time to do something about it, though. Hopefully there will be lots of time for you to get your knee tuned up properly for that cruise! What kind of cruise is it and where is it taking you? Sounds like fun!

Yes, it is very good to finally know what it is and have a plan for fixing it. A friend and I are taking an Alaskan cruise. We're going round trip out of Seattle, which is great for us because we won't have to fly. We'll visit Juneau, Skagway, Victoria, and Ketchikan. I've been on lots of cruises, it's a fun way to travel.

I'm sorry about the knee, though I'm glad you finally have an answer and a plan for fixing it. I hope the RA is not causing destruction. I really do think the methotrexate is what helped me the most.

I had to comment here because that is the cruise I went on! I hope you enjoy it and see lots of whales. :D

Thank you. I just take Plaquenel for my RA. This doctor said that for my age there was more degeneration than there should be - so that was not a good thing to hear. I need to get a copy of that report so I can show it to my RA doctor...

I did a similar cruise many, many years ago, but I'm so looking forward to this one. My friend hasn't done this one. I hope we see some whales, I didn't see any of those the first time and I didn't go to Skagway, we went to Sitka instead.

Good Thoughts for a speedy and pain-free outcome. The cruise gives you something to focus on :)
Cheers!
