Does anyone have an idea of how far an army of men can march in a day?  The conditions won't be the best as they're going from Minas Arnor into Mordor and down to the Sea of Nurnen so there will also be wagons for water and other supplies.  There will be some men on horseback, but the majority of men will be on foot.  I was thinking ten to twelve ( Read more... )

Oohhh fabulous, I think this could be very useful for SWG members too! I know all about essays gathering dust on the shelves, if we would just get more hours in a day...

Oh, thanks so much, Juno!! This is exactly what I need. I think in the conditions that my army has to march in, it will be about 16 miles a day which gets me to the Sea of Nurnen in about 24 days, maybe a couple of days longer if I give them a day or two of rest which I probably should.

Coming back quickly at a high speed as I need some characters to do is a more difficult thing. Perhaps I will set up a few relay / message stations along the way back to Minas Arnor to speed the way. Hmmm, something to consider. :)

Anyway, thanks so much!
