I am a terrible LJ-er. I don't like that.
My past month has been a bit mad. I have done some things that are nice and some things that are stressful and I have been sad and excited and happy and terrified. I leave in seven days.
I bought a backpack and some srs bsns walking shoes today. All were less expensive than I was anticipating, so I am pleased. One of the pairs of shoes is pretty ugly (they're white with baby pink and blue stripey bits, for one thing), but so comfy it's like having your feet cuddled, and I can't bypass that sort of comfort. Also velcro is involved.
Also, Dad informed me yesterday that he is no longer okay with leaving me after two weeks travel together, as was planned, and will now be accompanying me for the full four weeks of pre-uni traveling. I have mixed feelings about this. I think they are mostly positive. Benefits include the decision to spend another five days or so in Turin, where we will be staying in Dad's cousin's apartment and therefore not paying for hotel rooms. Mmm. Especially good because I didn't really know where I was going to go after San Marino. I was sort of excited about doing San Marino on my own though. O for my independence. Dad's work situation is awful at the moment so I'm glad he's staying for four weeks just for his own emotional well-being :P
Kira and I had our going-away party yesterday. It was great. It lasted eight and a half hours :) Pizza and revelry was involved. Also Star Trek and The Lizzie McGuire Movie and our own Vuvuzela Symphony Orchestra. I made this cake:
It's a Very Dense Black Forest.
I have a new camera. Its name is Lloyd. It is pretty great. Here is a photo of Aly and I being Super Attractive/Looking as though we've never left our house.
