Queer conference in Russia
In November of this year Rainbow Association, the largest grassroots queer group in Russia, is organizing a conference for all of its members and followers. We will bring more than 50 people together for one big brainstorming on future strategies for our collective as well as tactics of activism in ever-growing pressure from authorities.
In the past, we have been vocal as the queer voice in the streets of Moscow. Over last 5 years, we have been behind many public actions, campaigns. Annually, we organize the Week Against Homophobia with diverse events, from lectures to movie screenings, open for anyone who wants to get familiar with queer movement.
We have also been cooperating with many LGBTI NGOs and LGBTI activists all over Russia and try to assist any of them to the best of our ability, especially those who work in even more restrictive conditions in smaller cities in Russia.
For the coming conference, we want to bring several activists from Russian provincial cities to Moscow. Unfortunately, the flights within Russia are very expensive. Therefore, we appeal to you if you can make a little contribution so that we can collect enough money to bring some distinguished activists to speak at the conference.
