I are Hurdle.
So this weekend consisted mainly of marathon bouts of XBOX involving Gears of War and Dead Rising, which I was lucky enough to snag from Michael at the low low price of twenty bucks. ^_^
I was able to beat Gears on casual, which really isn't that great of an accomplishment, but I plan on moving up a level now to try and get all the achievements that I can. Lots of reply value because of that... There's also the multiplayer that pulls at my attention, so I'll give that a whirl soon also.
Went with the fam out to eat on Sunday evening for Grandma's birthday. I got her a palm tree that she was wanting at Wal-Mart. I felt sort of bad because it was pretty cheap but it's what she asked for and she seem really happy to get it, so I guess all is well.
I got myself a ticket for Sunday to Memphis In May. Counting Crows will be there, and I promised myself that I would never miss them again (I missed them the last time they came to Memphis) if they ever came back. I know that Adam Duritz isn't as cool as he once was but I'm still pretty dang psyched at the chance to see him perform live. I've listened to the Across A Wire cd's hundreds of times and imagined I was in the crowd most of the time I heard them, so I can't wait to actually get to live that out. I'm going up with John Murphy and whoever else might wind up coming along. The last time I went to Memphis in May was the year that it was all muddy and that's not an evening I'll forget for a long time, if ever. I was solid brown from right below the ole crotch to the bottom of my shoes from the mud. It was a complete mess, but it was also fun times.
