We had a nice poly group meetup this last Sunday. It was one of the first I've gone to that actually talked some about poly issues - primarily when and if you tell the children. It was good to meet some of the people. Seems there is a lot of new faces each meetup - often long-time members, just those I've not seen.

Well, one couple there had been in a quad with kids and foster kids. They said they had been fairly open about the situation, answering kids questions placed, but not answering questions unasked. They showed normal affections to each other in front of the kids (kissing/holding hands). They said they even braved an inquiry by DFACS without problem. Being Poly and Pagan, in the south, that's kinda surprising.

The point made was that hiding stuff tends to set up a feeling that something wrong is being done, that's why it's being hidden.

They did say they were careful to point out that not all people, outside the family, would see this as normal or good, so not to go telling people.

The quad asking has yet to mention it to their children (9 total). They just hooked up, live-in, three months ago.
