Back at Western.
My break was nice and relaxing. Caitlin spent the first half of break at my house, which was fun. We went all over. I took her to Sushiland, which she loved; I introduced her to Amanda D., whom she did not love. We went to Seattle, took Lucky for walks, got tons of coffee.
I also went to Terra Bite three times. I had seen it on the news, read about it in the paper, and since it's essentially in my backyard, I decided to visit it. It's a "voluntary payment" cafe in downtown Kirkland. Interesting concept and definitely seems to work, but it really only works in Kirkland. The coffee was great, I thought, but there were never very many people actually inside. Also, they don't allow minors and turned away a few groups of teenagers.
Also, my 11-year-old parakeet died over break. That was pretty depressing.
Spring quarter starts Tuesday. I'm taking 19 credits, which I'm hoping is "doable." I love learning about different things, so I tried to take as many classes as possible. Of course, I'm more optimistic now, before I have something ridiculous, like two papers, a midterm and a presentation all due on the same day.
Tomorrow I will buy books, which always gives me a mini heart attack when I see the total, and maybe buy a new bus pass. Oh, and I kind of want to check out Value Village.
