"Victim of fatal stabbing is identified

COVINA - Authorities Wednesday identified the victim of a fatal stabbing on Casad Street as Jesse D. Kyle, 18, of Covina.
Kyle, a senior at Covina High School, was stabbed several times Tuesday during what police described as a drug deal gone bad.
"There was a confrontation. The victim was flown to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center," said Capt. Ed Winter, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Department. "He was pronounced dead on arrival."
Two men were arrested in connection with Kyle's death. Samuel Jackson, 18, of Covina, is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail at the Covina City Jail. He scheduled for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. today in Citrus Court.
An unidentified juvenile, allegedly stabbed by Jackson, was arrested on suspicion of Kyle's murder, officials said.
According to Covina police Sgt. John Curley, Jackson drove with Kyle to a home in the 600 block of East Casad Street. Once there, they met up with two other people, the 17-year-old suspect and another unidentified juvenile. The suspect lived in the home where the stabbing occurred.
"We believe some sort of narcotics transaction went awry at the house and a fight ensued," Curley said. He would not comment on
whether any narcotics were found in the home or in any of the subjects' possession.
Curley said Kyle and the juvenile suspect were fighting in a bedroom. As Kyle and Jackson tried to leave, the suspect attacked Kyle with a knife and stabbed him several times.
Jackson jumped into the fray, Curley said, and allegedly stabbed the knife-wielding juvenile in effort to get him off Kyle.
"They got out to the front of the residence and by that time, we were on the scene."
Curley said officers found Kyle unconscious in the front yard.
Throughout the day, friends of Kyle's left messages for him on his MySpace.com page.
"Man Jesse, I'm gonna miss you so much man, you were the best cuzin I can ever wish for," a person identified as "Slug" wrote. "I wish it was me who took the stabbing in the first place. You'll always be in my heart man. And, I promise I'll cherish you and your soul until as long as I can live."
Kyle's MySpace profile shows photos of a typical teen. Kyle described himself as 5 feet 11 inches tall, with an interest in music, girls, dancing, making money and lifting weights. There are also references to rave parties, punk rock music and LSD. "
