According to the Playlist, there are 30 young actresses now seriously being considered for the role of Katniss, including Emma Roberts, Hailee Steinfeld and Chloe Moretz.

A huge, wide net. Uh ok Playlist. It looks like they cast a mostly white net to me. But then I only really liked Hailee Steinfeld in their Hunger Games fancast.
