Project help.

Sorry if these kinds of posts aren't allowed (feel free to delete if that is so). I'm usually a lurker in forums and LJ communities. I'm kind of internet-shy. Haha.

Anyway. I have to do an intersectionality project for my Psychology of Gender, Sexuality, & Race class (due on the 29th, lol), and I decided I wanted to do it over race/gender and casting in the media, particularly in TV and in movies. The purpose of the project is to educate the public about the injustices within the intersectionality I chose. My professor pretty much let us do whatever we wanted for it as long as it sends out a message to the public. I'm actually planning to do a video in the style of a movie trailer or teaser, since it's about casting and all. That is, unless I get a lighbulb moment for something else.

What I'm asking is if you guys can point me in the right direction for any particular literature/articles/anything that could help me come up with a compelling argument against whitewashing in the media, or for casting minorities and/or women into heroic/leading roles. I know of some of the articles and posts on the Racebending site, but maybe you guys know of other sources that I didn't consider...?

Thanks.
