A) AND THE EXAMS ARE DONE! YAY. *crossing fingers for hopefully good scores* AND THAT MEANS. IT'S HOLIDAY TIME. FUCK. YES. Seriously, how perfect is it that the holidays start hand-in-hand with the season premieres of the shows I really want to watch? Yeah. Merlin and Gossip Girl (possibly with a sidedish of Glee, depending on the second episode I'm currently watching right now), I'm lookin' at ya.
B) I'm catching up with TV shows. And movies. Mustn't forget movies!
Glee: I watched the pilot after finally realizing that yes, the second episode is up. I like it, it's not OMGBESTSHOW!LOVE yet but I'll reserve judgment until I've watched the entire season. I understand the premise- it's a bit High School Musical-ish, though, and.. I don't know? The show depicts the everyday life of the school in this very realistic tone and then upped the magic to eleven everytime the music is turned on. The transition is a bit jarring, and I'm still deciding whether I like it or not. While in High School Musical the magic works in the overall over-the-topness tone, in Glee it still looks like the show is deciding whether to embrace it entirely or not.
BUT IT'S FULL OF AWESOME STUFF THOUGH. And also, did I spot both Charlie AND Meredith from Heroes? And medical marijuanas! Will stalking Finn in the showers! Celibacy Club! SUE! Kurt made the best bitchfaces EVER. And Artie! Mercedes! Tina! Will is so, so adorable, by the way. I love the scene where he cleaned the gum out of Emma's shoe! Because she's germaphobic! Hee, her sandwiches were incredibly clean. AND OF COURSE RACHEL. Her Type-A-ness over everything is awesome. THE GOLD STARS! I don't ship them yet, but Rachel/Finn is adorkably awkward and cute.
The music is very good, by the way. Rehab was brilliant, the Grease song (along with Rachel being laughably creepy and wishy-washy Finn looking like he's going to die every five seconds, with Mercedes "I ain't Kelly Rowland" thing) was hilarious, and Don't Stop Believing.. is Don't Stop Believing. It's magical! Also, Leavin' on a Jet Plane. BRILLIANT SONG CHOICE, FOX.
Onto the second episode- and here's for hoping that the magic won't die.
Merlin: WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME THAT THE SECOND SEASON TRAILER IS UP??? OMG, MORDRED. WHAT BEAUTIFUL EYES YOU HAVE. AND MERLIN WHY ARE YOU IN PRISON AND I APPROVE OF THE JOUSTLING AND WHY SO HOT, ARTHUR?- AND IS THAT ARTHUR/GWEN I SPOT?
.. NEEDS MOAR MORGANA. Still, very excited nonetheless. And also hoping that the creators won't make a Gwen-and-Morgana-fight-over-Arthur storyline or some sort. OT4 IS THE WAY OF LIFE, DAMN IT.
Onto the movies: I haven't watch District Nine, Inglorious Basterds and 9 yet. Are they any good? All I've watched are G.I. Joe: The Rise of The Cobra and Orphan. The former was amazingly bad, and made a waste of awesome female characters to boot- but the latter was surprisingly decent as your standard evil-kid-horror-movie. Er, not really, but that's what made it not really painful to watch.
C) I'm really sorry that I didn't respond to your request,
icedragoncat (but I'm happy it's all under control though!) and I really, really need to start working on request!icons for
vanishingclouds. Except that I'm very lazy. And
ship_manifesto's hottest ship poll is
halted AGAIN for OBVIOUS reasons, with the results going from crystal clear to hanging in the air. Why do people never learn?
