Oh, my goddess, but I am in a world of hurt this morning, peeps! Opened my pc to a big ol' BSOD, so I called the guys over at Dell Tech Support. What a bunch of idiots. Thankfully, I've got a desktop pc to use, and I just backed up my files on Sunday!
So here's what happened: Apparently, my PC is not supposed to have been able to support the Windows 7 OS I upgraded to this Spring. This has been causing hardware problems due to incapatibility (or so I'm told), resulting in the need now to replace either my motherboard, memory and/or hard drive.
Don't ask me why they sold me the upgrade to Windows 7 to begin with - it's not like I went and got it at Best Buy or some shit. Dell Tech Support (forthwith referred to as These Fucking Guys) sold it to me, but not before helping me run a diagnostic FROM THEIR WEBSITE that said it was a go. WTF, people?
So then This Fucking Guy is telling me that installing another OS voids my warranty, and that's about the time I lost my shit. It's a good thing I am not in any sort of power, because Bangalore and its lovely citizenry would be a pile of ash and cinders if I had access to nukes.
I then asked to speak with a supervisor, on whom I let loose a surprisingly calm rant, though I did let slip the F-bomb at some point (Me: "your tech support is a cluster fuck!"). I really wish my mother hadn't raised me right and I could've indulged myself. *grits teeth*
So they're supposed to send a technician to my house to fix it but I haven't heard anything. ARGH!
