Selling Post #2 - Guinea Pigs

Jul 13, 2009 12:54

Another selling post! (If you missed it the post with my music collection is here. There's still lots of stuff there! Please don't be shy! 95% of the CDs are 'like new', and if I get $5 apiece, I'm happy!)

This time, I'm hoping to sell some guinea pigs. Not the real ones! These little guys are crochet all the way! They're the size of a real baby guinea pig (they fit in my palm), are very clean and quiet, and don't eat very much.

They take about 1 1/2 hours to make, from my own pattern (also for sale). I'm also willing to do commissions if you want your own guinea pig made up. I hate to part with them, but they're the next casualty in the effort to get enough money to move. :/

This is a non-smoking house, though I do have 3 cats. The yarn is 100% acrylic and the stuffing is polyester fiberfill. Nose/mouth detail is done with cotton embroidery floss.

I have 10 made up and ready to go, check them out! ^-^

As before, PayPal is preferred, but I will also accept postal money orders or concealed cash (at your own risk!). I'm perfectly willing to ship worldwide.

First up is an albino piggie. S/he is pure white with red eyes and pink nose/mouth detail:

Next is the one I've been calling Brownie. S/he's a dark chocolate brown with black eyes, nose/mouth, and feet:

The next two are almost identical. They're a light cream color with black eyes and pink nose/mouth detail. The difference is in the stitches; the one on the left ended up smoother but fatter while the one on the right is the way I usually make them.

If you only want one, that's fine; I just took the double-pictures to show the differences:

Next up is a colorful little fellow. S/he was made using phased-color yarn in purple, blue, and green. The eyes are red and the nose/mouth is pink:

The last of the solid-color piggies is the one I've been calling Loopy, for obvious reasons. S/he's pure white, with black eyes and pink nose/mouth. From the ears back, s/he was made using a loopy rug stitch. I don't know if s/he'd unravel if you cut the loops and wasn't brave enough to try. =_=;;

The next few piggies have patches of different colors in their bodies, and each one is unique. I doubt I'd be able to make an identical one if I tried, since I didn't count the color-stitches. =_=;; They do all have eyes, so if you can't see any in the picture, they're blending in (I blame the lighting). You can see them in person, though...

I call this one Dusty, because she looks almost identical to my old guinea pig Dusty:

This is Cupcake. Not sure why; she just looks like a 'Cupcake' to me. She's light brown and cream:

This is Millie, though now I think she looks more like a Mocha. Dark brown and light brown, with black eyes and nose/mouth.

Last but not least, this is Spot, also pretty close one of my old piggies, though Poky had black ears....

Like before, anything I make is going into the 'Moving Out Fund'; no reasonable offers will be refused (and I'm very reasonable!).

Make an offer; comments are screened so it's just between you and me. ~_^
