not so traumatic experience

yesterday i had my first mammogram. isn't getting older fun? anyway i had been regaled with stories about how horrible the whole experience was, how painful and uncomfortable, so i was completely psyched up for this. it was a total anti-climax. i've worn sports bras that have compressed me more, i've had boyfriends who have squished harder than that. seriously. 15 seconds of slight discomfort and THAT is what everyone has been moaning about? don't believe the hype!

in other news i bought a juicer using my rewards points on amazon. yay! free juicer!! i watched this documentary called 'fat, sick and almost dead' and was persuaded by scott that we should both try juicing. this is not one of these fad diet things. i mean i am not about to drink water and cayenne pepper for 2 weeks. you can get all the nutrients you need from fruit and veggies, and the plan is to eat only fruit/veg either whole, blended or juiced for 5 days, then juiced only for 5 days and then back to the any way for 5 days and then you are done. its a mini-cleanse. since i pretty much live on a veggie diet, this means cutting out eggs, dairy and bread, all of which i have been cutting back on anyway (you are allowed beans etc. during the non-juice phase). i have been getting lazy in my diet lately, eating the same stuff over and over, so i figure this'll change things up a bit. can't hurt anyway, except apparently i can't eat TOO many leafy greens cause a tonne of cruciferous stuff is not great for the whole thyroid issue, but since i DO eat lots of them to start with, not INCREASING my intake of those particular items should not affect me much.
my juicer should be here next week. i am excited!!
