Pairing: KyoxToshiya
Disclaimer: We own no one, only our dirty imaginations.
Summary: Kyo instantly develops feelings for the band’s new bassist but somehow he has the feeling that someone got there before him. But why does it seem that Toshiya is flirting with him too? It’s hard to read all the mixed signals. Also, this is an oneshot but has a companion fic (to be posted later) which circles around other characters.
Comments:
seinen_no: You know girls, after re-reading this, it really made me smile. It's not a piece of high-class literature, I know it but it made me grin merrily. I almost forgot about this story and it's kinda like the counterpart to the story we wrote for
psycho_glam. They are a bit like the same story, told from different angles. I always wanted to do something like that, but it's not easy and this was a good start. Besides, I think Toshiya and Kyo are a sweet couple *nods*
Okay, I better stop babbling and although this was the Christmas fic for
oanja, I wish you all happy Easter holidays now!
fonulyn: I think that my better half already said everything I was supposed to say XD It’s no high class literature but I think it’s sweet and nice, and it was good to try writing those two together for a change, as we never did that before. I still like seeing Kyo and Toshiya together at times, so it was good :D I hope you enjoy it too!
And feel free to
add our journal if you like the stories!
Plus,
the archive.

*shifty eyes* What to request?
- pairing: I'm going to ask for a Kyo/Toshiya fic just because I've never read one and I think it would be interesting to see how you see those two. =)
- genre: Um... band fic
- rating: anything, but smut is always more than welcome. xD
- what I would like: Appearances from the other members, maybe they'd be weirded out by the two of them getting together (not in a homophobic way just in the way "Toshi and Kyo? Together? The world must be ending!")
- what I don't want: Well you said it yourselves, I don't want Kyo cutting himself or anything stupid like that. (I hope it's not too much to ask... *wanders off*)
All the Small Things: Say It Ain't So
After taking a long drag from his cigarette, Kyo moved his gaze back to Toshiya. Their new bassist was talking animatedly with Die. Too bad one couldn't understand a word, but then, the vocalist wasn't too eager to hear them sweet-talk. Right from the moment when the blue haired man had stepped into their rehearsal room, he had been caught, developing a crush on him instantly. Toshiya was tall and gorgeous, had an outgoing nature and seemed to smile always, and that was already enough to gain his interest.
A sigh next to him startled Kyo out of his contemplations and he took a side-way glance at Kaoru. The band-leader blew a cloud of smoke out of his nose and pursed his lips slightly. He seemed to be quite tense lately. Maybe it was because of the preparations for their first album or due to the problems they had had with their former bassist. Again, the vocalist's thoughts drifted off and he returned to watch Toshiya who was still chatting with the redheaded guitarist.
For a second, Toshiya turned his head and when their eyes met, he gave Kyo a short smile. Was that a wink? The small gesture made him blush and quickly avert his gaze to the cigarette in his hand. Ever since Toshiya had joined their band, he had been sure that the bassist sent signals that he was interested in him, but at the next moment seemed to be hitting on Die. All that confused the small vocalist and he had no idea what to make of the new bandmember.
They all liked him, no doubt of that, but the problem was that Kyo wasn't that certain about HOW MUCH he liked him. And especially how much the bassist liked him in return. He apparently got along well with Die at least, since out of the four weeks he had been in the band, he had been hanging out with the redhead for at least two weeks, and the two of them seemed to be constantly talking about something.
Another small, annoyed grunt coming from Kaoru startled the vocalist from his thoughts, and as he turned to glance at Kaoru, the older man spoke without turning his gaze. "Maybe I should interrupt their nice chatting or we won't ever get more work done today." The tone in the guitarist's voice was mildly irritated, and one could see it in the way he pursed his lips as well.
Kyo nodded quietly and answered with a delay. "Yeah, I think you should. I don't want to spend all evening here." Yet, neither of them made a move and the vocalist only kept on staring at the two tallest bandmembers until Shinya, the drummer, stepped next to Die and smiled sweetly. "Hey you two, you can go on talking later. Let's work on that song first, okay?"
Toshiya shrugged casually. "Sure." Then, he turned to face the redhead again. "We can talk later, right?"
"Of course." Die flashed him a stunning smile, nodding several times to emphasize his words. "We've got all the time in the world." He didn't have time to say anything further though before Kaoru was on his feet, taking his guitar and even strumming a few notes. "So cut the babbling and get to work now." They had all noticed how tense the lead guitarist had been lately, so the tone of his voice only earned him a few glances and the other bandmembers obeyed instantly.
It didn't take long before they were all caught up in rehearsing the song again, like the pause had never been there in the first place. Time was running fast, and surprisingly soon Kaoru already signalled that it would be alright to cut it and leave it be for that day. Shinya was the first to leave, only exchanged a few words with Toshiya before saying his goodbyes and disappearing through the door. The bassist on the other hand didn't seem to be in a hurry anywhere, and instead seemed to be making his way towards the small vocalist slowly.
Kyo didn't notice it at first, because he was busy watching Die pack his belongings; or rather he was watching Kaoru who watched Die. Maybe the lead-guitarist was equally annoyed that the redhead and the bassist were getting along so well, if only for different reasons. But Kyo had no time to think about it more deeply, because when he turned around to get his bag, he almost bumped into Toshiya. Instantly, his heart was beating a bit quicker when he looked into those almost black, friendly sparkling eyes.
"Sorry." Kyo mumbled the word and stopped his tracks, feeling like being glued to the ground. The scene caught Kaoru's attention and he leaned a bit against the amplifier behind himself, watching closely.
"No worries, man," Toshiya laughed in a friendly way instantly, reaching out and patting the smaller man's shoulder. "I was just sneaking up on you like that so technically it's ME who should apologize." He tilted his head, his eyes sparkling and he showed a winning smile, not bothering in the slightest that his teeth were funnily crooked.
Exactly that kind of smile was something that made Kyo's heart beat faster and his knees go weak. He blushed a bit, but didn't let his nervousness show. "How about…" Right after the words had left his lips, he changed his mind again and instead of asking the bassist out for a drink, he rather went on. "We go to practice together tomorrow. You're not living far away from me, right? I mean," he hesitated for a short moment, "we could take the train together."
It wasn't usual to see the vocalist so insecure, but he simply had no idea how to judge Toshiya's behaviour. On the one hand, he could have sworn that the taller man was hitting on him, on the other it looked like he was interested in Die as well. So how should he react? And honestly, Kyo didn't even know if Toshiya was into men or if all this was just his friendly nature that fooled him and made him believe he wouldn't mind more than mere friendship.
"Sure thing." The bassist looked pleased, nodding slightly and if Kyo's senses didn't fail him the smile widened a bit more even. "I only live a couple of blocks away from you so it'd be perfect!" Toshiya's hand was still resting on the small vocalist's shoulder, making him feel oddly self conscious in a way, but the taller man didn't even seem to notice and went on merrily. "How about grabbing a beer? You do drink, right? So I'm not wasting my time here trying to ask an abstainer out for a drink." The last words were spoken with a happy chuckle and a wink.
They caused Kyo's ears to turn bright red, because usually he wasn't much of a drinker. But hey, if it would get him closer to Toshiya, he would do quite much. "No, you're not wasting your time," he drawled and managed to sound something between secure and even teasing. Deliberately, he didn't act on the invitation instantly, but when the other man didn't go into detail, he raised an eyebrow. "You mean right now?" Nobody saw the crossed fingers in his jacket's pocket.
Kaoru passed them by, mumbling something about having an appointment. Still, when he had reached the door, he turned to face Die. "Are you coming?" The two guitarists didn't live far away from each other as well and usually came to practice together and left together too. After all, Kaoru was the only one with a car and Die was lazy enough to get up half an hour earlier in the morning than he usually would only to spare himself the annoying train-ride and instead join the lead-guitarist.
"Sure!" Hurriedly Die grabbed his jacket, fighting with it to get it on properly. Just before leaving the room, he turned to look over his shoulder, smiling at the two who remained behind. "Bye. And Tosh, see you later!" The answer was a nod and a raised hand from the bassist, and soon the guitarists had both vanished from the room.
That was the point when Toshiya turned his attention back to the previous topic completely. "No, not now." He smirked, the sparkling eyes turned straight on the man before him. "I was thinking about the January sixth in 2012." As soon as the words had left his lips he chuckled again though, shaking his head and leaning a bit closer to the smaller man. "Of course right now!"
For a split-second, Kyo closed his eyes as he felt the other man's breath ghost across his face. It even caused goose-flesh to rise on his skin and yet he managed to appear totally calm outwardly. "I like to plan ahead," he remarked coolly, "so I'd say 2012 sounds good. Just let me take a note in my computer and check if I'm free then. About today, I would be free."
"Perfect then. I can show you an awesome pub I found just a few days ago!" Instantly Toshiya seemed to be more than enthusiastic, leaning in to plant a small peck on the smaller man's cheek. As he pulled back he was laughing again, and one simply couldn't know what was going on in his head right then, as usual. "Don't worry, they even play decent music there, not this horrible techno and pop that makes your ears bleed."
The explanations passed by Kyo unnoticed; everything after the small touch of Toshiya's lips on his cheek did. Only with a lot of self-control he could hold back to touch the skin with his fingertips, but knew that he was staring at the man before him. After a second, he nodded though, hoping Toshiya wouldn't notice his slight confusion. "Er, yeah. I wouldn't have thought you'd drag me to such a place."
"One never knows. Hey, Shinya likes some pop too, how can you know that I'm not sharing his taste in music anyways?" the taller man went on babbling merrily, laughing softly at his own words. He had already put on his jacket, and noticed the slight slowness in the way the other man's replies came. Smirking he tilted his head. "Are you coming?"
That was enough to startle the vocalist out of his dreams and he nodded agreeing a couple of times. "Yeah, wait a moment." Quickly, he grabbed his own jacket and his bag, hurrying after the bassist. "I was just hoping you wouldn't," he answered while locking the door behind him. Kaoru would kill them if they forgot it as the equipment was worth more than they all owned together.
"Although," an impish smile found its way to his lips and a certain sparkle to his eyes, "I think you like to dance, don't you?" He had been daydreaming about that; trying to imagine how it would look like if Toshiya danced, slowly moving his hips to the music. Of course, in his dreams he had been dancing just for him, but that was his private business and none of the other man's concern.
"Yeah, I do." Toshiya stated instantly, not even trying to deny it as he saw no reason for it in the first place. "Maybe I can persuade you into some dancing too? After a few beers it shouldn't be that bad." He chuckled. "Even Die tried some dancing after he was drunk enough and you know how much he hates dancing. He's not even that bad though..." While speaking, the taller man was guiding them both out of the building, staying close to the other man, somewhat oddly close, closer than people usually walked to each other, if one asked Kyo.
The mentioning of the redhead made him frown though and he looked at Toshiya doubting. "You've been dancing with Die? Together?" He had no idea about the redhead's preferences sexually, but if he had been dancing with Toshiya, didn't that mean they were at least flirting with each other?
"Well, depends on how you define dancing 'together'." Toshiya didn't seem to notice the frown, only shrugged and gave the other man a bright smile. "Of course nothing slow, you know, like tango or anything. But if you count in us being on the same dance floor simultaneously next to each other, then yes."
Suddenly, Kyo burst out laughing and when the bassist gave him a questioning glance, he waved his hand through the air. "Sorry, I just imagined Die with a rose between his teeth, dancing tango with you." That image made it up to the bad feeling that the whole idea of Die and Toshiya going out together had caused.
In response Toshiya laughed, slapping the back of the other man's head playfully. "Hey! Keep in mind that if I ever dance tango with him, he will be the lady! I'm taller than he is. At least one centimetre." The sparkle in the bassist's eyes and the grin on his lips told clearly that he was just talking, not taking it seriously in any way.
"You will have to discuss that with him." The remark came out a bit more grumpy than intended and Kyo made it up by smirking at the other man right afterwards.
They reached a small bar that was located in a side-alley and the bassist determinedly headed towards the door, even held it open for the smaller man. Smiling, Kyo followed the invitation. He had never noticed the pub before, but it looked nice and had an exotic flair. Without wasting a single moment, Toshiya instantly headed towards the counter, ordering both of them a huge beer before changing directions and this time dragging the other man to one free table he had spotted a bit further away.
The place was crowded, but not overly so, and there even was still room to choose from. "See? Here's a dance floor too." Toshiya nodded to the side. "So beware, sooner or later I'll make you dance too."
"You wish." The vocalist shook his head. He had never liked dancing too much, hated to bump into strangers on the crowded dance-floors. On stage, it was different, there he could just fill the music with life by moving along as he pleased without having to be considerate of a partner. Yet, the thought of being close to the taller man, of their bodies colliding accidentally while dancing, caused a certain tingling feeling in his stomach and to soothe it, he quickly took a few sips of his beer.
Rapidly they were getting involved in a discussion, mostly due to the bassist's talkative nature though. Somehow he had the same effect on Kyo, made the usually quieter vocalist come out of his shell and take part in the talk. Neither of them noticed how quickly time passed by, nor how many beers they had already downed. Toshiya was still determined to make Kyo dance, and he was pestering the smaller man about it every now and then.
Yet, the vocalist was still too much at his senses to agree. Besides, it would be a bit embarrassing to dance with another man in a normal bar. At least he didn't feel easy about it and wasn't half as self-confident as Toshiya when it came to that. But he also knew that if he drank only a bit more, he would soon agree upon anything as his head was already spinning from the alcohol and he felt like doing something stupid. To avoid it, he took a look at his watch and then smiled at Toshiya. "Maybe we should leave? It's late already and we have to be up early tomorrow again." It was the usual excuse, blaming Kaoru for setting the time for practice so early.
"Aw, but don't you think that this gets you off the hook!" Toshiya pursed his lips, creating the most adorable pout ever. He was somewhat drunk as well, in a good enough mood not to argue right now about it. "The next time we go out you WILL dance! Trust me!" He chuckled a bit, but nodded several times to put emphasis on the words.
"Then make sure that next time we go out we go to a discotheque and then see about it," Kyo promised with levity as he thought that wouldn't happen too soon. After all, he usually avoided crowded places like the huge dance-temples and rather went to a small pub like this one, where he could sit in one corner and watch the people.
"I will pick a suitable place!" The bassist nodded again, downing the rest of his drink before getting up on slightly swaying legs. "Now let's get going then. I need my beauty sleep and tomorrow's gonna be a long day..."
'No, you don't need any beauty sleep,' Kyo thought but obediently followed the taller man. He got a good view on Toshiya's butt when he followed him out of the club, getting so lost in staring that he almost hit the door with his head because the other man had already slipped outside. Together, they were heading towards the train station, both men's steps a bit uneasy due to the consumed alcohol.
They almost missed the train, and to catch it Toshiya took several running steps, instinctively grabbing the shorter man's hand to drag him along. He didn't even realize they were holding hands, and even when they were both standing in the train he didn't let go.
Being out of breath, Kyo only noticed it after a few moments and when he did, his heart started racing again. He didn't make a move to free his hand though, quite the contrary, enjoyed the moment. Maybe he had been wrong and Toshiya wasn't interested in Die, but really hit on him? Or then it was the alcohol that made him do these things which caused the vocalist's imagination to bloom.
The taller man didn't pull back in any point, and when the train stopped used the same grip to pull the smaller one out of the vehicle and to the street. There he let go though, taking a few bouncy steps forward. "It's such a nice evening, isn't it? Air is clear, and one can almost see the stars!" He stopped, tilting his head to look upwards. "At least with some imagination..."
Kyo followed his gaze, but couldn't help to glance at the taller man from the corner of his eyes. Toshiya looked so happy and relaxed, natural in a way. That was something one didn't find often in a person. Maybe in Die, but Kyo knew the redhead's serious side too, knew his insecurities which the bassist seemed to miss completely. "With a lot of imagination," he remarked, chuckling a bit. It was a nice night indeed though and he subconsciously stepped a bit closer to his company.
"Hey, but they are there, that we know at least." Toshiya chuckled, turning his gaze to meet the smaller man's, his eyes sparkling like the stars would've chosen to hide in them. A short moment passed between them, something almost magical and they just smiled at each other, but then the merry bassist was laughing softly again and began to walk forwards. "Maybe we should really get to the sleeping part too before it's time to get up again."
With a short sigh, Kyo followed after him. If there had been the perfect moment to do something to find out if Toshiya was interested in him, that had just been it. He knew that he was kinda shy towards people he didn't know that well and that included the bassist. Yet, he was determined to change it. Maybe tonight? Kyo's apartment was the first on their way and he stopped at a crossroad, nodding to the right. "I have to go down there. Live around the corner."
"Oh," Toshiya nodded, stopping on his tracks. It seemed that they needed to part there, as his apartment was in the other direction, a bit more than a block away. "Thanks for accompanying me tonight." He was smiling honestly, looking straight at the smaller man. "We have to repeat this once." With his long legs he only needed to take one step to stand right beside the other man, and suddenly he was looking down on him. Without giving Kyo a single moment to react in any possible way he leaned down, connecting their lips in a kiss.
It wasn't just a peck like earlier that day, but a real kiss; something that made the vocalist's heart pound madly against his ribs. He couldn't deny that it was weird to stand there in the middle of the street and just kiss his bandmate, but when the other man's tongue brushed across his lips, he forgot everything else and opened his mouth, allowing him to deepen the contact.
As soon as it had begun, it was over again though and Toshiya just smiled brightly at him. "G-good night," Kyo stuttered befuddled and almost asked if he could invite the other man up to his apartment. But his courage failed him and so he just smiled in return. "It's really been a nice evening." After the words had been out, he could hit himself for saying something THAT stupid.
Toshiya only smiled though, not seeming to mind in the slightest. "True. But beware, I still intend on making you dance!" Raising his hand to bid farewell, he already took a few steps backwards. "Good night, Kyo. See you tomorrow at practice."
The answer was yet another smile and the vocalist waved a bit before turning to head to his apartment-complex. That night, he didn't sleep well, because his mind was occupied by the young bassist, the happenings of the evening repeating in his head time and time again. Finally though, in the early morning hours, he drifted off into sleep, dreaming slightly indecent things of the other man. The next day, he would ask Toshiya out, telling him he wanted to repeat the evening.
The day turned out pretty hectic though, as it seemed that Kaoru was determined to soothe his bad mood by being an even worse slave-driver than usually, making the other four men work like they never had before. They only took a short break in between, and as Toshiya was again speaking silently with Die the whole time, it didn't leave any chance for Kyo to address the topic yet or to ask the other man out. He had to be patient and wait.
Only when the band-leader finally called it quits and was gone within the blink of an eye, practically vanishing in a cloud of smoke like the devil himself, the mood seemed to relax a bit. Die had gone to the toilet, that day obviously not joining Kaoru on his ride home. Shinya was bidding farewell, complaining about the blisters on his hands from the hard work behind the drums, which left Kyo alone with Toshiya who was storing his bass away.
He cleared his throat to get the other man's attention and when he got it, smiled friendly. "Say Tosh, I thought I return the favour today and wanted to ask if you're free to go out somewhere. After all, we don't have to work tomorrow and wouldn't have to hurry home before we feel like it."
The bassist was smiling instantly, but then seemed to remember something and bit his bottom lip softly. "That sounds awesome, really, but" His smile turned into an apologetic one, and he looked truly sorry. "I can't. Not today, I promised to hang out with Die. And it'll take long..."
There it was, what Kyo had feared all along. So the two indeed were seeing each other. He tried not to show his disappointment and thought about something clever to say. "Hey, that's no problem," he waved aside. "I mean, it's Friday and who is free on a Friday anyways, right?" After a short pause, he had summed up all his courage and then asked. "How about tomorrow?" Inwardly, he was praying that this didn't appear too eager.
"I promised to go see my parents... Mom's coming to town, and only stays one night so I'm pretty much stuck with her." Toshiya sighed, looking somewhat disappointed as well. He reached out his hand, touching the smaller man's shoulder. "Let's see about it next week, alright?"
"Yeah sure." Kyo tried hard not to show how disappointed he really was. So Toshiya preferred to spend the only free day of the weekend with the redheaded guitarist. That was pretty clear in his opinion. The fact that his mother would be there on Saturday was something one couldn't change, but why Die? And why had Kaoru already left and wasn't there to save him and tell him that they could go drinking together? For once he could have done that and spare the small blonde the embarrassment he felt now.
Toshiya patted the other man's shoulder and seemed like he was about to say something more, but just at that moment Die stepped into the room. The redhead noticed that there was something weird in the atmosphere, and he hesitated, smiling a bit insecurely as if he was thinking about fleeing the scenery not to interrupt it. Toshiya had noticed him though, and smiled in a friendly way. "You ready?" As Die nodded, the bassist simply turned towards Kyo one more time. "Don't forget it, alright? Next week."
"Sure thing." Kyo waited until the two had left the room and then grabbed his belongings, heading home on his side. He had sensed the slightly tense atmosphere when Die had entered the room and now brooded over the reason for it. Maybe Toshiya and the redhead had something going on already and Die didn't want the other bandmembers to notice something. After all, Kyo couldn't believe that it would be Toshiya who tried to hide something like that.
And, now that he was thinking about it, Die was way too insecure to openly parade around and admit that he was involved with a man. He usually only managed to hide his insecurity well behind the bright smile. The more Kyo thought about the redhead, the more his mood darkened. By the time he had reached his apartment, he wanted to slap himself. Die was his friend and he couldn't have known that he was interested in Toshiya. Deciding that this was a good day to go to bed early, Kyo took a hot bath and crawled under the covers while other people got ready to go out partying.
The weekend had never felt that long, and Kyo didn't know whether to feel relieved or nervous about going to work on Monday morning. He was glad to have something to distract him from his thoughts, but then again this would mean seeing Toshiya again, and moreover seeing him with Die again. He wasn't sure how he would react on it.
Everything went perfectly normally though, and they got back to their routines. Kyo still remembered that he had promised to go out with Toshiya again that week, but he kept silent about it and didn't mention a single word. He decided that if Toshiya wanted his company he would ask, and if not, he wouldn't force him into it. Still it hurt, to be left like that as Toshiya didn't do anything about the matter either. And the week was already nearing its end threateningly, not leaving many opportunities for anything to happen anymore.
On Friday afternoon when they were all done with work and just lazily sat around in the practice-room to discuss some matters, Shinya coughed to get his friends' attention. "Guys, you know, I thought it's been ages since we've been out all together. I think we should change that, so how about hitting some clubs tomorrow?" He had noticed the tension in the air as well and believed that the reason was partly because they were all so caught up in working on the album.
Besides that, he was hoping it would brighten Kaoru's mood as well, thinking the leader only needed a night of excessive drinking and maybe getting laid to find his balance again and not brood so much anymore. "I'm in." Kaoru was the first one to agree. He didn't have anything better to do and really needed a change. Kyo was hesitating, but then nodded, glancing at Toshiya from the corner of his eyes. "Yeah, that would be nice."
Toshiya seemed to be all up for the idea and nodded eagerly. "Yes! We're in, right?" He turned to look at Die, nudging him encouragingly. The redhead was smiling almost instantly, not needing to be pushed more as he was agreeing as well. "Sure thing, sounds good to me." That made the bassist bounce a bit on his seat even, and he turned his eyes to steal a long glance at their vocalist.
If Kyo's senses didn't fail him, the other man even winked at him. What was that? Flirting with him again? He was at the verge to step up to the tall blue-haired man and ask him how he could be with Die AND flirt with him at the same time. But before that happened, Shinya demanded his attention and asked him where he would prefer to go. The drummer knew that Kyo usually didn't fancy crowded discos, but wanted to convince him to try a new club, something huge in the city centre with three stages on different floors.
After that talk, Kyo had forgotten his anger for the time being and tried to ignore Toshiya's flirting from then on. Toshiya frowned a bit as there was no response to whatever he was doing, but he tried not to bother too much and just to enjoy himself.
They all headed to the bar together, occupying one corner booth all five of them. Kaoru instantly seemed to switch on the heavy drinking -mode, drowning his beers in a speed that was uncommon for him usually. He was less grumpy than in some time though, and therefore his friends just generously ignored the drinking, deciding to just be there to see him home if he'd get himself too wasted in the end.
It didn't take too long Shinya began to squirm in his seat. He was itching to go to the dance-floor and move. "Somebody coming with me?" he asked smiling. Very much to everybody's surprise, Kaoru was the one who got up and nodded. "Me. I wanna see the first floor."
Kyo followed him with his eyes, disbelieving, but preferred to stay where he was. Maybe Die would join them and he would finally get a moment together with the bassist so that he could get things straight. Although, when it came down to it, he wouldn't have the courage anyways. His mood darkened considerably when both, Die and Toshiya got up as well. "Don't you want to come along?" the redhead asked smiling.
The answer was a headshake and a dismissively waved hand. "Nah. I don't like dancing anyways." Inwardly, Kyo decided to check out the dance floor later.
"Aw Kyo, but you promised some dancing..." Toshiya tried his best pleading look, but as it didn't seem to have any effect on the small vocalist he just sighed, defeated. "Alright, but don't run away! We'll be back soon." He reached out and naturally touched the other man's shoulder, before turning and following their friends towards the dance floor.
"Yeah, yeah." The vocalist nodded and instantly turned back to his drink, pretending to be totally disinterested. He had very well noticed the glances Toshiya received from other guests there though, both female and male and it made his blood boil even more.
Once the two were out of his sight, he got up and went to the counter to get himself another drink as there were no waiters and people had to gather their drinks themselves. Just when he was gone, Kaoru went there too, seemingly already bored from exploring the first floor. He almost bumped into the vocalist, but neither of them paid enough attention to notice each other.
Kyo had had the time to down one and half large beers more before he sensed a presence beside him that made him look up instinctively. He didn't have time for anything else but to realize how Toshiya slid into the booth beside him, grabbed his head in his hands and then his mind was shut off by the feeling of their lips touching again, for the second time ever.
Toshiya had caught him totally off guard and the kiss was so sweet, again making his head spin, that he forgot anything else. Only after a few seconds, he firmly pushed the other man away from him. "Must be great to have two flings at the same time," he grumbled and when the other man tried to kiss him once more, held him back. "I'm not up for things like that."
"Two flings?" The bassist frowned seriously, looking like he didn't understand anything. "What the heck are you babbling about?" He looked somewhat hurt, and as the other had pushed him away he just sat down beside him, still facing him though.
"Let me help you a bit: Die!" Kyo shook his head, not believing that Toshiya didn't see it. Was he really this flirty that he didn't think about all the hearts he broke on the way? Or didn't Die care? No, that couldn't be. Kyo knew the redhead well enough to know he wasn't the kind to date more than one at a time. A one-night-stand, okay, but not dating.
Slowly the understanding dawned on Toshiya's face and he even laughed. Kyo was already about to protest but then Toshiya moved closer, wrapping his arms around the smaller man's neck and almost sitting on his lap. "It's not what you think. You know, Die..." He pursed his lips, thinking how to put it and then went on with a small chuckle. "Die is having this crush on Kaoru..."
"Die is what?" Kyo didn't believe his ears. The redhead had a thing for Kaoru? "But why are you hanging out all the time while he could hit on Kaoru?" Before the bassist could answer though, Kyo put his index-finger on the other man's lips. "Don't. I don't wanna hear it. So you really were hitting on me and I didn't imagine all these things?"
"Sure I was. I was only a bit put back by the fact that you seemed to be ignoring me!" Toshiya pursed his lips, sulking theatrically. "I was just helping out a friend, there is no need for you to be jealous when it comes to Die. Hey," Suddenly a content smile spread over the bassist's lips and he chuckled. "But you WERE jealous, so it means that you DO have a thing for me! Right?" He looked victorious.
The conclusion made Kyo blush, but luckily one couldn't see it in the strange light of the club. "I wasn't jealous," he defended himself instantly. "I only said I don't start something with somebody who's involved with somebody else at the same time." He pouted as well, but when Toshiya frowned and tilted his head questioningly, he drooped. "Yeah, I was jealous."
"So come on..." Toshiya's voice had dropped to a mere purr, and he brought his face close to the other man's so that their noses were almost touching. "Tell me that you want to kiss me again." He was looking the other man straight in the eye, looking as seductive as he could manage.
That made Kyo chuckle a bit and he shook his head. "Did anybody ever tell you that you're impossible?" He couldn't resist those lips though nor the intense look of the taller man's eyes, which made him shudder. "You are right, I want to kiss you again." He didn't make a move though, only waited for Toshiya to take action.
"Good!" The single word came with a lot of contentment and it only took mere seconds before Toshiya's lips sealed Kyo's again.
