When Backandtotheleft toured I wanted to have synths that were a bit disposable, ones that I would not mind getting a bit of damage or stolen. I, as well as friends, have had some bad experiences that made me come to this decision. After a bit of trolling on ebay, I find a cheap Novation Nova, only to have the guy who sold it try to do an insurance scam. It was moldy and he only wanted it insured when I sent it back. I reported his ass. I found another one for the same price but it arrived too late for me to use on the tour. The synth itself is very clean sounding but does not hold up against the Virus at all. It does do a good TB303 sounds. It ended up as a redundant synth to what I already had. I did use a bit on the unrecorded Backandtotheleft stuff, after that project folded it just sat. When I started up again I remembered that I own it. I sat down with the instructions and went over it. I still do not think it holds up to the Virus but does have a tone that can cut though if used correctly. I used on several Where The Sun Is Silent tracks, more for pads and back ground sweeps. I think I paid 150.00 for this and I think they are going for 400.00, but I am too lazy to sell it even though I don't used it to the fullest. Not sure how to fit it in Famine Harvests sound. I would say a great piece of gear if you did not have a bunch of other things.
