terror process-that which burns: this was written when the backandtotheleft cd was in production,Tom had tracks has busy producing and Darren was finishing up lyrics/vocals. The stuff we had written so far was really fast so I wanted to do somethin slower and more textured. I started by making loops using the korg electribe. Some were sampled into the Yamaha su700 where you can lower the pitch but not mess with the tempo. The loops, four I think, are of different lengths to help with the random feel of the track. I added drum that were samples from everywhere and kept the snares pretty busy under parts. the roland jv1080 and the waldof xtk provide pad sounds. The nord lead plays a filter sweep for the bass, I did something a bit different< I recorded the sweep using the mod wheel. Then I went into logic and cut up, erased, switch around the data. I eneded up with a very random sweep that could not be played by hand. I have some vocals samples and a sample of something burning added in parts. As with most stuff from this project there isn't any verse/ chours structure the song builds and breaks down and builds again. I tried to leave space so everything had room to come through in the mix.
I like this track, alot of sounds going on but has a very laid back feel to it. I think I achived what I set out to do on this one.
