Sooo tired. . .

I'm just about ready to go face my fears and get Lasic eye surgery because glasses ain't working and contacts ain't working. Being blind (as in legally blind without corrective lenses) really sucks big time. Ok, I'll admit, it's only been about 4 days since I started wearing contacts again, but oh my god did they kill today. I felt as if someone ( Read more... )

I've been wearing contact lenses for about 18 years now and I have to admit that they take a bit of getting used to! Do you wear soft or hard contacts? I've heard that hard lenses take longer to get used to and they make your eyes a bit sore.

Its going to take your eyes a while to adjust and you will probably find yourself blinking more as you get used to them. I sit right under an air-conditioning vent at work, so my eyes dry out all the time. Eye drops help :)

Sending some positive {{{vibes}}} for your Aunt.

Thanks for the tips (and the happy vibes), Ang! :) I've worn contacts before--in years past. I started out with the hard lenses and yes, the definitely take time to get used to, but I'd *really* like to wear the soft lenses as they are much easier to work with, I think. I hope time is all I need because man, it feels like a desert is in my eyes! But if you can pull through with them for 18 years, that gives me some hope!

I'm thinking good thoughts for your aunt and your eyes. I'm a big believer in positive thinking, too. :D

Thanks for your happy thoughts, Liz. Both my aunt *and* my poor eyes could use them! :)

I'm all about the positive thinking, babe. Well, and the hair. ;)

Sorry to hear about your Aunt Carol. Unfortunately, only she has the power to change, and she has to want to do it. It's sad that getting arrested, causing an accident, potentially hurting someone (though luckily that wasn't the case *this* time) was not enough for her to 'hit bottom' and turn herself around. I'll be thinking good thoughts for her *and* you.

Hey, you were asking about a phone call? How's Sunday?

Oh, you know it, girlfriend! ;) Speaking of hair, I'm getting mine cut today so I won't look like a bedraggled hippie anymore (fingers crossed).

Thanks for your thoughts, I really appreciate it. You are totally right about it being my Aunt's call whether or not she gets clean. That's part of the reason this whole situation is so frustrating!! I really am only able to envoke happy thoughts and prayers for her--not much else I can do. But good thoughts and prayers are a lot!

Yes, let's have that phone chat on Sunday. I'll e-mail you more about the details later tonight. :)

YAY! to phone call. :) But BOO! to haircut. I love your long hair! You don't look at all hippie-ish (and believe me, this is coming from the girl who is sometimes called "the hippie chick" at work, so...) Tell me you're just getting a trim!
